The 2004 Honda Accord's optional navigation system came with a theft-deterrent system. If the Accord loses power and the battery requires a jump-start, an unlock code is necessary to turn the system back on. The navigation's unlock code and serial number were provided with the Accord at the time of original purchase. A Honda dealer can also provide you with the unlock code, if necessary, free of charge.
Locate your unlock code. The original code should be in your owner's manual on a card. You can also obtain the code by visiting the Honda Owner Link website or by calling a Honda dealer. You will need to provide your vehicle identification number (VIN). Start your vehicle. The Honda owner's manual states that the vehicle must be turned on. Enter your four-digit unlock code when prompted. Your navigation system may try to initialize GPS depending on how long the battery was disconnected. If it does, you will be taken to a screen that asks you not to turn off your vehicle during the 10-minute initialization process. Wait until you are taken to the Disclaimer screen. This signifies that your navigation system has been properly unlocked and is ready to use.
