There is a company in Ireland that provides good quality oil at a very reasonable price and does such repairing as well e.g. Boiler Servicing, heating oil etc.

Sorry to disappoint you, but unlike steel or cast iron ceramic sinks cannot be re-enamelled. To do so someone would have to grind off the remaining enamel and then reapply and re-fire the sink: not only would this be very laboiur intensive but the sink would be unlikely to survive the mechanical and heat processes involved.

If you can't live with your crazed or cracked enamel then buy a replacement sink. They're still manufactured as there is a demand for them.

Landlord painted kitchen sing with enamel sink paint and now it is chipping off and looks terrible. How can it be fixed?

Jan 2013
Remove paint with stripper maybe, otherwise Replace sink is only solution.
The etching and paint process for applying coatings to sinks and tubs is temporary fix, and will only last a year or two.
Report problem to landlord since he may have gotten a warranty on paint product, but don't wait for a magic cure to appear, because this is not magic, it's a failed paint job and paint has to be removed or sink replaced.

Can I repaint a steel enamel finished sink? Has been scratched by clumsy wife!!

Yes you can. they make several products for this at the harware stores. You said enamel but are you refering to porcelain? To do the repair you will need porcelain repair compound and some high-gloss, alkyd-base paint that matches the color of the porcelain. if it is simply enamel then just match the color or repaint the whole sink using enamled paint. what you have to watch and worry about is if the repaired section will be contantly wet, if water gets under the paint it will bubble and flake off and make a mess. So the answer is yes but it may not be worth the trouble.

I'm in the North York - Toronto area, I have a blanco double compartment sink, black, it's approximately 15 years old and it has several chips in the enamel or porecelain. Is there someone who can repair...

If this is a SILGRANIT sink you will need to contact Blanco to find this out they do not reveal the material used in this sink and they may be able to help. This is the web site for Canada.

How do i repair a small chip to a ceramic washbowl invisibly

There are many kits on the market that will allow you to DIY. Your results will depend on your ability and how well you follow the directions. This kit is very good. http://www.diybathrepair.com/repair-instructions-ceramic-enamel.html If you want a 100% invisible fix then you might want to take it to a professional. However if you follow the directions to the letter you can get great results with a repair kit. Will it be 100% invisible? Highly unlikely with a DIY kit. Will it look good and be almost invisible? Yes.

Scratches

Your sink is likely either porcelain enamel or a fibreglass type. Either way you can get polish for these most times from a good kitchen center, or the sink manufacturer. Look for a label on the underside of the sink

Very faint surface crack has appeared on base of my new enamel sink is it repairable??

If the crack is merely just a surface scratch and has NO depth to it. Then yes you can fix it and will never be able to tell a scratch was there before.

Most Home repairs store, i.e. Home Depot, Menards, Lowes carry scratch remover products. There might be a special kind specifically for enamel, make sure to check the package. The instructions are very straight forwards. Should not have any problems.

If it is a Crack, there is also like a bondo type product at the same stores that will fix it too...That takes a bit more technique to make sure its smooth and blends in with the rest but either way make sure you read labels and follow instructions.

I hope this Helps...Thanks for using FixYa.com
