Make sure that the contacts in the distribution list have fax numbers entered in their contact information. If they don't, then the behavior you described... where no recipients are shown in the TO: field... will happen when selecting a distribution list. If only some of the contacts in the distribution list have fax numbers, then only those contacts will appear in the TO: field.

HOW TO PRINT FAX CONFIRMATIN PAGE MFC440CN

Hi,

To print fax send confirmation report:

bet3_0.jpg

You can use the Transmission Verification Report as proof that you sent a fax. This
report lists the time and date of transmission and whether the transmission was successful
(OK). If you choose On or On+Image, the report will print for every fax you send.
If you send a lot of faxes to the same place, you may need more than the job numbers to
know which faxes you must send again.

Choosing On+Image or Off+Image will print a section of the fax's first page on the report
to help you remember.

When the Transmission Verification Report is turned Off or Off+Image, the Report will
only print if there is a transmission error, with NG in the RESULT column.

Help! I can't respond via email on Craig's List

Imagine your shopping on Craig's List and find this GREAT item you really want to buy. You open the ad, decided the price is fantastic and want to contact the seller. There is no phone number listed, so your only choice is to email the address at the top of the ad. You click on it, because it looks like a link and this strange program called "Outlook" opens.

You continue with your email and hit the good old "send" button and instead of a confirmation you end up with an error.

Has this ever happened to you?

Craig's List uses Microsoft Outlook as a default for handling email on their webpage. What is Outlook? Microsoft Outlook is an email handling software that allows you to handle everything in one place. This means that you can have your AOL, Yahoo and Gmail all go to the same place in one big in box.

When Outlook is configured correctly, emailing Craig's List ads is a snap! You click on the blue email link inside the listing and it automatically opens your Outlook mail server.

For those of you who do not wish to install, configure and use Outlook - you can still use your regular email to answer ads on Craig's list. It just takes a little more work.

If you would like to email ads on Craig's List without using Microsoft Outlook, follow the instructions below:

Open Craig's List on the internet and minimize the screen

Open another window on the internet and sign into your email account

Go back to the Craig's List window and find an ad your interested in emailing

Highlight the email address at the top of the ad by clicking the button on your mouse and dragging across until all of the address is covered

With the address highlighted, right click on your mouse and choose "copy"

Minimize the window and pick up your email account which is open at the bottom of your screen.

Proceed to composing an email like you normally would.

In the address window, right click again with your mouse and choose paste

This pastes the address from the seller on Craig's List into your email program.

Write your email and send just like normal.

You can use this copy and paste method with any email provider on the internet. Good luck and happy shopping!

Everytime i try to send mail from a craidslist ad or something outlook pops up instead of going to yahoo mail

You have two choices to fix this problem. You can install outlook and configure it to get your Yahoo email, or keep your Yahoo email as it is now and use the Copy and paste option to answer ads in Craig's List.

Outlook is an email program that allows you to upload several accounts into one place. You can use Outlook to get your AOL, Yahoo and many other email programs at the same time and manage it in one place. Outlook picks up the prompts automatically on the ads on Craig's List. If you want to use Outlook, you will need the information on the outgoing and incoming mail servers from your Yahoo account. Set up the incoming and outgoing mail in Outlook with your Yahoo account info and you can use it to answer the ads on Craigs list.

You can use your Yahoo email account as it is now to answer ads on Craig's list by using the copy and paste method. When your in an ad on Craig's list that you want to answer, use your mouse to highlight the email address and click "edit" at the top of the page and then "copy". Minimize the page on Craig's list by hitting the minus key at the top right hand side of your screen and then open your email program. Click in the address section of a new email and right click with your mouse and choose paste. Then write your comments and send as normal.

Hope this helps?

Can receive but can't send email

I can receive but can't send mail using my POP mail client. Why? If you're able to receive but unable to send mail using your POP mail client (such as Outlook), please review the possible trouble areas below.
SMTP Server
In the fight against unsolicited commercial email (spam), some Internet service providers require their subscribers to send mail through the ISP's own SMTP servers. If you experience problems sending email, please contact your ISP to determine if it requires different SMTP server settings. You will need to use the ISP's SMTP server in place of Yahoo!'s SMTP server when configuring your POP mail client.
The following is a partial list of ISPs that require you to use their SMTP servers. If your ISP is among them, try replacing the Yahoo! SMTP server with the ISP server in your POP mail client settings, or consult the ISP's help files. (Learn more about configuring your client.) If your ISP does not appear in the list below, please contact your ISP directly for more information.
MSN smtp.email.msn.com NetZero smtp.netzero.net Verizon outgoing.verizon.net Earthlink/MindSpring Please visit its help pages AT&T Please visit its help pages Bell Sympatico Please visit its help pages SBC See below SBC Your SMTP settings will vary based on your account setup. Choose the SMTP setting that corresponds to the email address most like the one provided to you by your ISP.
[email protected] smtp.ameritech.yahoo.com [email protected] smtp.flash.yahoo.com [email protected] smtp.nvbell.yahoo.com [email protected] smtp.pacbell.yahoo.com [email protected] smtp.prodigy.yahoo.com [email protected] smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com [email protected] smtp.snet.yahoo.com [email protected] smtp.swbell.yahoo.com [email protected] smtp.wans.yahoo.com For more information about AT&T's SMTP requirements, please visit the AT&T help center or contact AT&T DSL support at 877-SBC-DSL5 (877-722-3755) or AT&T DIAL support at 866-SBC-DIAL (866-722-3425).
SMTP Port
If you have adjusted your SMTP server, and you're still experiencing a problem, you may need to use an alternate port. In an attempt to control spam, some Internet service providers now block port 25, which means you may need to use port 587 when sending email via Yahoo!'s SMTP server. Learn how to change ports.
Antivirus Protection
If you have Norton AntiVirus enabled on your computer, you may have to make configuration adjustments to use Outlook or Outlook Express. For more information, visit the Symantec web site.
Authentication
The Yahoo! SMTP server requires authentication. Learn more.

How do I fax from OpenOffice.org Writter??? I have a HP Officejet J5780 that fax hard copy just fine, but want to fax right from the word processor. I am using Vista Home os.

Sending Faxes and Configuring OpenOffice.org for Faxing
To send a fax directly from OpenOffice.org, you need a fax modem and a fax driver that allows applications to communicate with the fax modem.
Sending a Fax Through the Print Dialog
1. Open the Print dialog by choosing File - Print and select the fax driver in the Name list box.
2. Clicking OK opens the dialog for your fax driver, where you can select the fax recipient.

Configuring OpenOffice.org a Fax Icon
You can configure OpenOffice.org so that a single click on an icon automatically sends the current document as a fax:
1. Choose Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org Writer - Print.
2. Select the fax driver from the Fax list box and click OK.
3. Click the arrow icon at the end of the Standard bar. In the drop-down menu, choose Customize.
The Toolbars tab page of the Customize dialog appears.
4. Click Add Commands.
5. Select the “Documents” category, then select the “Send Default Fax” command.
6. Click Add and then Close.
7. On the Toolbars tab page, click the down arrow button to position the new icon where you want it. Click OK.
Your Standard bar now has a new icon to send the current document as a fax.

Distribution list

Some clarification is needed.
  • Are you on a corporate domain or using a computer at home?
  • How many people are in the distribution list?
  • Does your email provide have limitations on the # of recipients?
  • Have you recently installed or uninstalled Norton or McAfee antivirus?
Two things you can try:
  1. Attempt a repair by opening Outlook -> Help -> Detect & Repair.
  2. Reduce the Distribution list by half creating two separate lists that are an equal split of the original.
  3. Go to Tools -> Options -> Others -> Advanced Options -> Manage Add-ins, then disable all by unchecking the boxes. Try sending the message to the group. if this works then one of the COM add-ins installed is the problem. (Such as Symantec/Norton)
