You must have hooked the speaker output from the VHF to the nmea output of the GP320 instead of the NMEA!

the output is on the black (blue) and white wires. in system setup, portsetup, you can select which sentences it sends out. 847-746-0100

Using the nmea output from your GP-31 to the nmea input on the VHF. Enable the GLL Sentence and make sure the port is set for nmea0183. Remember hooking nmea up it's positive to positive and neg to neg. Once that is done and you have a fix you should have lat and long on your vhf.
