Well auto shutdown issues have no any actual solutions because there are many reasons that causes this error. the battery located in the motherboard of your laptop may down . or you might be experiancing a heat related issue.

You should look for the cd´s that came with the laptop and keep in mind that the cd´s will erase everything on the computer. Im presuming that your talking about the operating system of course...

shut down the system and start it again
donot restart
shut down
then start got it if the problem persists then try reinstalling the device drivers

open it and check the power system (in the laptop) check for damaged capacitors or any other components that look damaged. Also if any check the coils (i think thats the english name) to be undisrupted, because they have a huge role in starting some power systems ...

If u have any electrical mesurement device use it to find out where the problem might be ...

The BIOS has no relevance to the manifestation that u describe, so it is not the issue!

Could be overheating - can you hear the fan working? Try installing temperature monitoring software such as Speedfan.

plz check if there is any disc in the drive?
if not this time the system restart keep tapping on f 8
and go to safe mode type msconfig in run clk ok
new win will *** up go to startup tab down at bottom disable all
apply ok restart teh computer clk on the chk box dont show this mesg again once the computer will boot let me know if teh thing doesnt work

using a Windows XP CD, boot from it, wipe the HDD clean(also make new partitions) and reinstall Windows...that should help you on the virus issue as well...when u recreate partitions, the virus is deleted.

Check that your notebook power settings are correct, it may be that when you press off or shutdown it's actually going into hibernation or standby, this is only correct when you close the lid without shutting down through Windows. As for Windows Media Player, you cannot remove it as it's a Windows component, you can only dissable it through Add/Remove programmes>Add/Remove Windows Components.
