The mechanical arms or the insert disc sensor is damaged. The easiest repair would be to have the disc drive replaced.

SOURCE: We dropped our WII down

Well it's possible that you just plain out broke your disk drive?

You could try softmodding your wii to play games off a hard drive or sd card. but it is a somewhat difficult process and will take some time.

otherwise you could probably get it repaired by nintendo.

good luck

What do i do whe every game works exept or my brand new backyard football '10. when i put it in it says ' an error has occurred. press the eject button and remove the disc then turn the wii co

Do you have a copy of SMASH BROS BRAWL? If so, try it and see if it works.

Usually if every game is working EXCEPT one, it's a problem with the game. However, on the Wii, most games are single layer. Smash Bros Brawl is one game I know for sure is double layer. Some Wiis have problems playing double layer discs.

If everything is working OK including Smash Bros Brawl, I would return the disc and get an exchange for another one. You may have gotten a defective disc.

What is wrong with my wii says this an has error occurred press the eject button remove the game disc and turn off the powe to the console please read the wii operations manual for further instructions

This error most often effects homebrewed Wiis. If you do not have homebrew installed on your Wii, and have not hacked it in any way, then you might have luck doing a system update. If that doesn't work, you'll probably want to contact Nintendo support.

Have a game the wii wont read

Hi, Check and clean the disc. If the disc has too many finger prints it will be harder for the Wii to read. If that doesn't work try a laser cleaner disc. Good luck

We got a game stuck in the wii consele....We tried ejecting the game as well as turning the game off...nothing is working.

You have to try out all these options first:

Turn the Wii off and on again after about 20 seconds. Press the eject button again.

Unplug the Wii's AC power supply if Step 1 doesn't work. Wait 1 to 2 minutes, and trying to eject the disc again after turning the Wii back on.

Hold down the eject button for 5 to 10 seconds.

Try ejecting the disc with the Wii at different angles. If you hold the Wii upside down, it may help the disc fall out.

Call Nintendo and send the Wii back if non of these steps work. In most cases, a disc stuck in the Wii should be covered by warranty.

Nintendo says to see if power light was coming on, AC adapter reset. unplug from both ends for 90 seconds.Hold eject button for five or 10 seconds.

If none of this works, you might wanna try this, but it is not a preferred method, if you ask me, even though it can be done.

To remove a disc you'll need three sets of tweezers. And possibly a bobby-pin.
First you need to turn the Wii upside down (and preferably unplugged from a power source)
Second, using two sets of tweezers, press the small metal "guards" down. These are located just inside the mouth of the Wii. They're there to keep the disc from free falling, and inhibit their removal. They aren't locked and shouldn't be difficult to press down.
Third, you'll need to reach "up" through the middle of the mouth with the third set of tweezers to grab hold of the disc. I'd highly recommend using flat tweezers, not sharp ones as the disc may become scratched.
NOTE: The disc itself rests on the internal carriage (through the center hole of the disc) and if upside down, should fall into your tweezer's grasp easily. If it doesn't then you need a bobby pin to dislodge. Gently press the bobby pin on top of the disc and then grip the disc with the tweezers.
Finally, gently pull and the disc and push on the bobby pin and the disc will slide out easily .

This can be done with one person, but helps if you have an extra hand.
Good luck.

When inserting game disc it says "disc cannot be read. Refer to the wii operations manual."

  1. Refer to the Wii operations manual.
  2. Try cleaning the disc with a lint-free cloth. Wipe the disc in strait lines, not in a circle.
  3. Don't move the Wii around while there is a disc in it. Do this to prevent further damage.
  4. Try a different disc, preferably one that is much cleaner. If it doesn't work, there is an internal error with the Wii.

I get error code Disc error 972. Is there an easy fix for this Regards Steve

From what I can tell, this error is caused when you've burned your own disc on a DVD+R/+RW. The Wii console only supports DVD-R/-RW. Check your media to see if you have DVD+R, and, if so, try burning onto a DVD-R (or DVD-RW, in case it doesn't work) and check it in your Wii again.

MY WII WON'T READ MY WII DISCS

Probably a dirty laser. You'll have to use a laser cleaning disc made for Wii. If that doesn't do it then it's most likely a bad laser. Not an easy self fix for a newbie. ?warrenty? then send it in to Nintendo.(you can find out on their web site) If not, then replacing the laser yourself or finding someone who can is the best bet. Actualy kinda cheap to buy a new laser(ships from Hong Kong), There are other causes for read errors, but I've found the laser to be the culprit most of the time. Could be just dirty,.. dust & cigarrette smoke can be cleaned with the cleaning discs but , the best way is of course to open the Wii and wipe the laser with a Qtip soaked with alcohol. But a Wii is not all that easy to open up. ($7 for cleaning disc, $9 for new laser, $90 to get Nintendo to fix it.)
