Solution one: Perform a fax line test
Perform a fax line test to check whether the fax line is properly connected.
Step one: Run a Fax Test

Press the Setup
button (
) on the product control panel.

Use the Arrow
keys (
) to select Service
, select Fax Service
, select Run Fax Test
, and then press OK
.
The Fax Test prints.

If the report passes, try to resend the fax.

If
the report fails with the message 'Fail - the phone line is not
active,' plug the cable into a working telephone jack, and then try to
resend the fax.

If
the report fails with the message 'Fail - the cord is in the wrong
port,' continue to 'Step two: Change the cable to the correct port.'
Step two: Change the cable to the correct port
Make
sure the telephone cable is inserted in the correct port. Remove the
cord for the fax line from the port labeled with a telephone, and then
insert it into the correct port.

Scanner error message
The message '

' displays on the product control panel while sending a fax.
Solution: Check paper size
This product only supports paper less than 381 mm (15 in). Use only letter, A4, or legal sized paper for sending faxes.
To send this fax, copy or print the original document onto shorter paper, and then resend.
