Flash is not working for a nikon sb-600 speedlight

The sb-600 turns on but the flash dont work. do i need a bulb replacement. what should i do.

I have the same problem. Everything on the screen of my flash looks completely normal, and the ready light comes on, but when I take the picture or try to test the flash it doesn't flash. I have the SB-600 too.

Same problem. I've tried changing batteries, modes, settings. After about a hundred attempts to fire the flash with nothing, it finally went off....once. And then back to nothing. All that did was rule out a bulb issue.

Zoom the flash all the way in so you can see if the flash bulb is broke

Have you tried the obvious - the test button??
If the test button doesn't work - either that button is bad - or the flash is bad.

SOURCE: Nikon Speedlight SB-600 keeps firing

I believe that there is a safety feature built in that if the voltage in the capacitor gets too large the flash will fire, to prevent damage, could be this that is faulty, if it is a new main circuit board is required.

Nikon d 90 camera Nikon Speedlight SB-600 TTL Flash on auto flash fire when dont any photograph when ready red light on

This sounds like there may be a short in the control circuit that senses the flash command. First check the wiring and the circuit area where the connector feeds. check to see if the connector circuit is shorted. These are some of the basics. It could be the internal circuit board is shorted.

How I can reset factory set from Nikon Speedlight SB-600?

Hi,
To reset your Nikon Speedlight SB-600 you need to press Mode + ON/OFF, both buttons simultaneously for approximately 2 seconds to reset all settings, including the custom settings (except the distance unit selected in m/ft) to their default values.
If this doesn't work for you, please comment and let me know, and I will be more than happy to assist you to further resolve your issue.
I will appreciate your feedback and positive rating for this free solution.

My SB-600 Just quit firing... :(

It maybe because it overheated he flash tube, nikon flash guns use a thermal cutout, to prevent overheating, usually after approximately 30 / 40 shots, in quick succession.  It should start working again after it cools down.
If not you may need to get it checked at Nikon Service Centre. Cheers Ian
