SOURCE: My Maytag Gemini double oven gas...........the

Hi

This issue seems to be with the gas inlet valve or the igniter itself that is bad. Gas Valve has a bi-metal that open when a certain amount of current flows through it to heat it up. Make sure that the glow bar is not cracked. Faulty igniters can allow correct current to flow to the oven gas valve for it to open but not get quite hot enough to ignite the gas burner immediately. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

SOURCE: How to remove a Maytag

Hi.

Before removing the door you need to release the lock on the oven door hinges. Door hinge locks are slide mechanisms or pins located on top of the hinges Once lock is released you will be able to pull out the door by opening it a bit, then lifting it up and pulling out.

Here parts and diagrams for your oven: MGR5755QDW.

Regards.

No gas to oven

The gas will not go on in the oven unless the ignitor is working as it should.
Remove the bottom panel of the oven so you can see the burner tube. Turn on the oven and watch the ignitor. When the ignitor starts to glow it should get a really bright almost hard to look at glow. If it just turns red then it is not pulling the correct amperage to let the valve know to release the gas.
Replace the ignitor and you should be good to go!

The "cancel" button for the upper section of my maytag gemini gas range no longer works. I used it yesterday and in order to get the oven to turn off, I had to unplug the range from the wall. Help!

Mine was doing the same thing. It was a stuck button under the touch membrane. If you are slightly mechanical you can fix it yourself, by first unpluging the oven from electrical power. Remove the upper panel, by taking 2 screws in back off. Also 2 screws on bottom. You can now tilt the upper control panel down to get at the controller itself. I removed it and unstuck the button. Works fine now.

Oven burner doesn't light

If memory serves me,there are a couple of screws on oven floor.Remove panel.Sounds like ignitor is the culprit. It feeds back to control. It may glow and light but unless it is sending full signal, gas valve will not open fully and oven will take forever to heat.
