PS3 ERROR CODES

I am having all kinds of error codes when trying to do various things. First when i try and add a friend, or get a friends trophy info and sync my trophys I get the error code 80711008. Before I could not even get the system to do anything let alone sign in, so I disabled the media servers in the network connections as I found from a PS3 forum, this worked and allowed me to sign in, get online and download updates but I am still having this same problem. I am on the latest firmware, running a linksys router with 100% signal strength. I did see in my router control panel where I could use port fowarding and saw a few posts about how that might work but I am unsure. Help!

Do an internet connection test. Your NAT type should be either 1 or 2. If not then there are some restricted ports on your router.

I find that putting your PS3 in your router's DMZ (demilitarized zone), solves all connection problems.

SOURCE: ps3 error code 80711008 and wpa

OK for your WPA you can check the security key by accessing the router http://192.168.1.1 .. password is by default "admin" and username is blank...go to the "wireless" tab and check the ssid...under "wireless security" check the security key...if you have "wep" check the numbers in "key 1"....
now make sure that you connect to your own ssid and type the correct key...
and you are right , you need wlan to connect to the internet wirelessly...however , first make sure that you have internet working through the router..if not you will have to configure the router and for that you a computer connected to the router...

As for your IP address simple use this site http://www.ip-adress.com/ should be everything you need

Well my ps3 wasnt letting me change my password and i made a new account. my trophies are still in the xmb menu but when i scroll to my name on my new name on my friends list it says im at trophy level 1....

You should reformat your HDD, this generally solves most problems, just make sure to create a back up first. Both things are done through the settings menu on your PS3.

Hopefully this will help you out

Hey there. had the same issue as you did. Try resetting to your system defaults. This wont delete and game data or trophies. Will just reset your internet connection, resolution and things like that. Im not sure what setting was causing the error, but this fixed it for me

Ps3- i have played star ocean: the ast hope and

If you see an error #8001020F you have run up against the current global issue with the Playstation Network. Most PS3 games will check the trophy status online before they load whether you are actually playing online or not. Sony is aware of the issue and is working on it. They have not released an ETA at this time. The only thing you can do is to keep on trying the games.

I got an error code 8001050f on my ps3 it wont work on or offline

This is a known problem with the recent update.
As many others have reported this bug occurs when you are supposed to earn a trophy and nothing happens. Somehow user accounts get corrupted :

- Trophy Syncing won't work (Error 8022D11)
- PSN games tell us that the system is not activated.
- Other games will not work either, telling that the data was created by another user and we would have to restart the game.

The only way to get rid of this problem is by deleting the current user and creating a new one with the same name. This however ruins most of the save games because the games won't accept them as ours!! Here is some gathered information :

- It can happen with every games supporting trophies.
- It happens since 2.50 and still happens with 2.52.
- There still is no official statement that this bug exists!

Sony Network is experiencing sporadic outages in certain areas today.
It may be a scheduled system upgrade or maintenance - but be assured you are not the only one facing this issue.
No UP time has been announced by Sony - they are working to get the system up and running as soon as possible.
The problem is not on your end.
Keep trying to connect.

Ps3 friends list

First go to settings and have the PS3 update the system's date and time via internet. If that fails, try rebuilding your database (It's helped many people in the past).

This is how to rebuild your database:

1. Turn off your PS3.
2. Press and Hold the power button down; the system will turn on and turn off once again. Once the system is off then take your finger off the button.
3. Press and Hold the power button down again until you hear 2 consecutive beeps.
4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via USB and then hit the PS button.
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.
7. Select the Rebuild System Database option.

The Recovery Menu supports the following options:

Restart System: Restarts the PS3 System.
Restore Default Settings: Reset all system settings back to default.
Restore File System: Checks for corrupt/missing system files.
• Rebuild Database: Rebuilds the Operating System for the PS3 (doesn't delete anything).
Restore PS3 System: Fresh restore; Deletes everything and starts from Scratch.
System Update: Updates the PS3 firmware to current version.
