My Cd dvd drive not working for Lenovo 3000 Y410 Laptop

A few solutions:
1. Have you tried to clean your cd/dvd lens? Probably your lens is getting weak.

2. For advance user: Locate, and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
- Look for DVD/CD-ROM drives and delete the subkey.
- Restart your machine.

3. Let Microsoft FixIt help you:

Worst case - Get a new CD/DVD-ROM for the replacement.

the problem is not with your OS ..
its with the drive.
bettet purchace a new tray optical drive.
its cost about 4500 indian rupee

good day maybe the dvd rom is defective. wont spin the cd or the optical lens is dirty needs to clean up.

it looks like you need an update for your DVD driver (Optiarc drives )
use the lenovo support site to get the latest driver for your notebook,

this should solve your issue.

you might need to re-install the cd-burner driver (nero). suspected also could the your dvd-rom drive faulty. contact your service center to replace your dvd-rom drive.

there is a problem with you DVD lens. first clean by DVD disk cleaner and try to play cd again.

may be your dvd /cd has problems.

what type of dvd is it? An oem, +r, -R, rw, ram, and have you tried cd's? It's possible it doesn't like that type of dvd media or it's just not properly configerd or not a dvd drive.

there is 2 size cut outs in cd/dvd tray to accomodate cd and mini cd , make sure its seated correctly before u close cd tray.
if you dont have this type drive then u have clip in type which holds cd/dvd secure.
