If you log into your router/modem you shuld be able to enable mac filtering add the mac address's you simply want to have access and they will be denied, alternatively you can turn off the dhcp so your router doesnt assign them access - either will work but i prefer the mac filtering.

ipconfig /all in a dos box will display mac address.

sorry when i say "They will be denied" i mean anyone who isnt on the access list.

I need to find my att dsl internet security key to sign on wireless my moden is a 2wire 2701hg

Open INTERNET EXPLORER and. (In the URL address field), enter the IP address for your wireless router ( the DEFAULT GATEWAY. This information should be contained in your router's manual. If you cannot find it, enter "198.168.1.1" as the address. This is usually the default IP address for most routers.do not type "www" just the number
Enter the username and password for your router. This should also be supplied in the router's manual. If you don't have this information, go to routerpasswords.com and find the brand and model of your router. This site lists the default login information for most wireless routers you can try "ADMIN" for user name and "PASSWORD" for passsword.
You should now be able to see your wireless router settings. You can configure your network ports, as well as SSID (wireless network name) and passwords.aka security key

ATT is your high speed internet provider and they supply you with 2wire DSL modem which has alot of power supply adapter going bad (you can Google 2wire AC dapter problem).
You can buy your own DSL modem but the key is the setting it up, it depends on how your ATT DSL system is setup, DHCP, PPOe, etc. What ever you do I hope you do have the user name and password that you may need to setup the new modem.
To explain exactly how here will take many many words and pages to explain, and without knowing your exact setup, it will be real difficult.
ATT does not care if you use your own DSL modem but they will not help you setting it up.
I would suggest you to get someone at school that knows a lot about computer, may be aks your school IT person to see if he/she can help you for free pizza.
I hope my explanation will help you out.

Try with a shorter enet cable and see if you get internet, if you are able to get internet with a shorter cable then the cable might not be working fine. Else get a wireless card installed on your computer since the 2wire modem has wireless connectivity. It would be more easy and convenient to connect to wireless using the 2 wire modem.

My web browser will not let me visit any 2wire settings websites

Consult your user manual for this information.
It is possibly a firewall issue that is not allowing this web site or it is the ISP that has blocking or the web browser itself is blocking the site due to security settings.

Connecting ADSL wireless modem router to COMCAST

unfortunately you can't because the 2wire is a dsl modem it has to use the phone line to connect to the internet, it would be different if it was just a router but since it is a modem it needs that connection to the phone line in order to work

CAN A 2WIRE DSL ROUTER WORK WITH A CABLE INTERNET CONEECTION

The 2wire dsl modem/router cannot be use with a another cable modem , since this 2wire device is also a modem/router and its made for the DSL conenction that's why it wont work with Cox cable, the best thing that you can do is to ask Cox to give a wireless modem/router like this 2wire so you can still use the wireless connection of your computer..

Hope that helps..........

2wire Wireless router not working w/Comcast cable modem

Its almost impossible to connect a 2wire DSL router with a Cable modem. They dont go hand in hand.
Although you can connect the outgoing ethernet wire from the modem in the last ethernet plug on the back of the router and then have the ethernet connections coming from the router. But not wireless. and if you find a way, contact me at [email protected]
