Power works, Incline and speed work. No LED showing 1/4 mile track, calories, distance or time. I have taken panels off and checked all connections seem fine. Any ideas?
SOURCE: I have a proform j8li treadmill, all 4 led lights
I have the exact same problem with the very same treadmill that i bouth 10 years ago and it has been sitting for 5 years unused. The last time it was turned on it worked but now that I plug it in and try to start it, everything works but the belt drive motor. Any ideas?
SOURCE: Just replaced the motor controller on my treadmill
You have one of three things wrong. Either a bad console, bad motor or a bad wiring harness.
If you have a flashing light on the controller when you attempt to start the machine then you more than likely have a bad motor. (this has a long warranty may be able to get one for free, check the back of your manual)
If there is no flashing light on the console then you will need to check the wire harness. This unit is known for pinching wires at the lower section where the upright connects to the lower frame. To check this you will need to remove the console. Three screws on each side and the wire harness on the right side will need to be unplugged. Then remove the right upright by removing the two bolt located on the bottom of the frame. Then do a visual inspection for pinched wires especially where the upright connects to the lower frame.
If the harness looks ok then you will more than likely have a bad console.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there.
See page 23 of the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for detailed instructions on how check if the unit is in DEMO MODE.
When the console is in the demo mode, the power cord can be plugged in, the key can be removed from the console, and the displays and indicators on the console will automatically light in a preset sequence, although the buttons on the console will not operate.
If a D appears in the display when the information mode is selected, press the SPEED button so the display is blank in order to return to normal mode of operation.
See page 24 of the manual for other troubleshooting procedures such as resetting the motor breaker located near the power cord connection on the treadmill.
