When I try to insert a disc, unless I use something to physically push the disc in, it doesn't insert all the way. It will pull it in to where it's not visible but doesn't click into place. It then ejects the disc. If I push the disc in using something, it will take it all the way in until it clicks, and it works fine.

Then it is time to replace this player the Laser reader is defective or the disk doesn't spin due to a defective drive motor, in most cases they don't even sell parts for these players and they are not repaired unless under warranty.
There should ba a tiny hole on the front of the tray cover on the drive. Switch off, get a paper clip or something about the same thickness and insert it carefully in to the hole, push it in until the tray opens.
Hello If it does not play the cleaner disc, just inspect whether the disc inserted in spins inside it. You can check this by open the upper cover of the player, and inserting a disc into it. If inserted disc spins inside, and the player won't read it, the fault is with its laser pickup unit, and it should be replaced with same type and number. If the disc dos not spins, the fault is with the sled motor [the motor that spins the inserted disc], has damaged, and should be replaced. OK.
There is a small hole on the front of the drive. Use a paperclip or a safety pin in the hole to push open the disc try enough to pull it open the rest of the way with your hand. Insert the disc, press the button on the drive to close the bay. If the tray doesn't close gently push the tray back in. If no lights blink on the front of the drive, the drive may be unplugged or has gone bad.
Error 3 is due to a dirty or scratched disc and error 6 is disc inserted upside down. First thing to try would be a different disc as it sounds like that one is quite damaged. If this doesn't work then you can try a software reset on the unit. The reset button is located behind the face plate on the right hand side and needs a pen or something sharp to push it in. The button needs to be held in for a good few seconds. Pressing the reset button will mean that you will lose all saved data, e.g radio stations and audio settings. Cheers, Dan
To eject an optical disc at startup, hold down the mouse key on a wired mouse immediately after turning the iMac on with the power button. Keep it held down until the disc ejects, which should occur within two minutes. If you hear the disc trying to eject but failing, it is physically jammed in the drive and will have to be removed by a professional technician.
To resolve this issue, try one or all of the following:
The
Wave® music system is designed to play commercial CDs, CD-Rs,
MP3-encoded CDS and CD-RWs. If your system has trouble playing MP3 CDs,
make sure the discs were recorded with compatible formats. See Cannot play MP3 CDs
The system may not be able to play certain CD-RW discs. Playability
is dependant on how the disc was recorded, including the format it was
recorded in and the actual disc used for recording. Note: iTunes
defaults to AAC as the encoding format. In order to use iTunes to make
CDs that will play on the Wave® music system, you’ll need to change the
format to MP3 How to Choose Import Options
Different brands of CD-Rs and CD-RWs use different materials which
may affect the ability of a player to read them. If you are burning
your own CD-Rs or CD-RWs, experiment with different brands of discs
If a commercial disc won’t play, check for scratches, fingerprints
or other physical damage. Try the CD in another player. If it still
won’t play, there may be a problem with the disc
Reset the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug the system back in
