Last 2 days, unable to open, when click on facebook icon, goes to adress line, circle spins, then stops and facebook word disappears leaving me with the internet explorer only

This is a problem with the computer, more specifically with the browser you are using.
It seems that some addon required for facebook in not correctly working.
You can reset the browser (note: it deletes passwords and history of websites you have visited but favorites will remain there).
Procedure for this is below:

On your browser, look to the upper right side where you will see the Tools link.
Click on it and scroll to the bottom where you will see Internet Options. Click on it.
In the middle of the box, you'll see Browsing History. Click the Delete button to start fresh.
That should resolve your problem.
