My Sansa connects, but I'm unable to get into it.

I plug it in, the little ding to notify a device is connected goes off, and the window pops up for the Sansa c240 but all I get is a VERSION text file and an icon with a white page, then it looks like a little browser in the middle of the page and it's named version.sdk, file type being SDK file.

I swear it worked before, I have no clue what happened between now and then to make it not work.

    my sansa plugs in correctly, but it won't charge or anything. i don't know what's the problem but it used to work.

Due to DRM restrictions, media files will not be displayed for portable media players in Windows Explorer (XP and Vista). You have to use Windows Media Player (WinAmp works too) to list and copy media files to the Sansa C240.

What i would recommend you to do is to uninstall the device and reinstall it back...to uninstall it...assuming that you are running windows xp...click on start, right click on my computer and go to properties..you should have your system properties open then click under hardware then device manager...look for the sansa device..it usually located under portable device..if its not showing there i would recommend you to look for under disk drives and see if its there..right click on the device and click on uninstall...after you unintall it unplug your device from the computer....Then follow this link below to download the porting kit...http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A2E73160-E862-4F19-BB26-C0CAFE798955&displaylang=en .Then check the mode of yuor device to make sure it sunder MTP not msc...To check the mode go under menu, settings and choose usb mode...After you check the mode open up your windows media player click on tools, options and click under privacy...clear the history and caches...after you finish you can plug the device on the back of the computer not the front then windows should recongnize it and it should work properly..if that doesnt solve the problems upgrade your windows media player to 11 even though you have done that already..and try to reconnect your device..make sure you have it connected on the back USB>>>

And if that doesnt work try to obtain the driver for your sandisk device go to http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/index.asp and find the driver for your device..and then connecct the device on the back of your computer...it should work properly..if you are still having any problems..let me know..i would be more than happy to assist you..

Windows MP suddenly can't find sansa c250 device

Well there might be something wrong with tehwire but before you worry with that go to your default programs and change your setting to ask me each time then you might have to click that2-3 times but in between unplug and plug in your mp3 and a box should pop up that says sinc music,...etc... If not it could be your cord having a kink in it. Eventually after a little while the wire will get worn out so i would check that by pulling it straight andtry to feel if there a any twists in it. thats all i can think of hope this problem gets solved

Make sure the hold/lock switch is not engaged.
Try switching between MSC and MTP Mode if that fails.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. How do you add songs to Sansa e250? I did something wrong...

copy the music's that you want then paste in the window with the files.(the music that you want to copy to the mp3 must be at mp3 format , if the music is not on that format use this converter http://superdownloads.uol.com.br/download/100/free-wma-to-mp3-converter/ )

Cannot delete the songs on mp3

I do mine through Windows Media Player
1)Plug in Sansa
2)Open up Windows Media Player and wait for the Sansa e250 icon to show up under the library. First time, might say 'What device is this' or 'Autoplay'-for autoplay,you click 'sync media files to Sansa e250 using WIndows Media Player'
3)When library shows, click 'Sync' if it is not already there.
4)Just simply click and drag the songs you want from the computer library to the list pane on the side.
5)Once your done, click 'Sart sync'

TO DELETE
1)Plug in
2)Wait for the icon under Library in WIndows Media Player
3)Go to Songs under Sansa e250
4)Right click desired songs and choose Delete. You only want to delete from Sansa e250-nothing else

Player does not connect using MTP USB mode

Does not recognize

The dinging sound is the USB port telling Windows that a device is connected, and does not necessarily mean that Windows recognizes a device.

Are you using Windows Media Player 10 or higher?

try going on to sandisk website, then download the new software
for your player, update then hook up the player to the computer!
