The switch to my Riccar 1500p hose is broken for the 2nd time. I don't want to replace the entire hose again, where can i get the switch and leads?

Take the screws out to take the handle apart. Remove the switch and take it to your hardware or local vacuum to to get the correct replacement.

SOURCE: riccar rc1100 won't turn off

I am an riccar dealer, and you either have a short in the wire leads from front of vacuum to circuit board or a bad circuit board which if so the boardd will have to be sent to manufacture to be rebuilt as there are no new circuit boards available. if not under warrenty which i doubt since riccar hasnt made these models for a while. would recomend replacement with either sunburst or moonlight model as they are a comparable replacement to the repair. or just simply just plug and unplug machine, if it doesnt bother you to do so. Its looks the same as a Kirby its done with a nut on the axle on the armature of the motor.

more than likely you can just take it into your local guarantee vacuum and sewing center and they will tell you the cost and get the part for you

Reset button power

Reset switch is located on the back of the vacuum and close to the back wheels.Press a reset switch a few times and vacuum should start. Check also cord plug . Many times metal prongs are broken at the end of the cord (usually one of them)

Check cord, esp at entry point. Otherwise it may be switch, motor windings burnt out, broken wire, carbon brushes worn. Some appliances also have a thermal fuse, which is a silver tube shape.

Vacuum quit in mid job will not start again

Don't know if your vacuum has a fuse in the power feed circuit. Most modern appliances do. If so, the fuse is shot. If not it's iether got a bad internal connection or the motor is fried. Also you mentioned a "reset". this sounds like a circuit breaker. Sometimes these breakers go bad and are replaceable.

Riccar 1700 power nozzle wont turn on

Make sure the 'Power brush' switch on the contol panel on the hose is depressed. Check the circuit breaker on the power nozzle; it will either be a button or a breaker that looks like a rocker switch, try to reset it.
Is the power nozzle motor running but the brush just isn't turning? If so you may have a broken belt. Not a likely solution since the belt is a lifetime belt, but still remotely possible.

Riccar 1500p vacuum won't start

it has a thermal fuse that shuts it down if it over heats. Check the hose , wands and floor tool for blockage and check your bag and filters as well.
