This TV constantly shuts itself off.

It may play for an hour then it turns itself off. If you turn it back on it stays on for a few minutes then it turns itself off. Sometimes it goes off then it turns itself back on.

The issue has been resolved. I removed the back of the TV (pretty easy actually) by laying a blanket over the kitchen table and placing the TV face down. I started with the power supply as an obvious beginning. Both fuses on the board tested fine. And touched up every solder joint with a hot soldering iron in case the problem was a cold solder joint. After this painstaking venture, I performed another visual inspection and noticed a capacitor that had a thin black X on the top of the can. This is a common sign the capacitor has over heated. I located a replacement for $1.20, installed, and successfully powered up the TV. I have had no problems since.
Oh, yeah, I also paid $120 for a BN44-00150A replacement power supply, plus overnight shipping. It actually arrived three weeks later. That was two weeks and six days after I fixed the power supply myself.

I have a TCL 43 43S421, and it turns on logo and shuts off, why?

Hi,

Please remove the batteries from your tv remote and then turn on the tv directly from the tv itself. If it stays on that means that your remote had an iffy power button that was the source of the tv constantly being turned off and on. Thank you.

I have a 2001, Panasonic 27

Suspect either bad solder connections somewhere or a issue in the power supply of the set----set will shut down for a number of reasons--it monitors voltages inside and if some go high or low it will shut down.

Toshiba 27af45 repeatedly turns itself off. Sometimes (usually) every few minutes, other times will stay on for hours. Works perfectly otherwise.

The fact that the television stays on for hours and other times turns in five minutes shows that your problem is intermitent .A defective component in the power supply is probaly causing the B plus voltage to go up.The TV can also have a dry joint which looks more likley i am curtain if you gave the TV a firm tap to the side when it come off it would come on back. Try it .

Turning off by itself

This TV probably needs the convergence amp IC's replaced. When they go bad the TV will not turn on.Call a good TV Tech and tell him you want the IC's upgraded to STK 392-150 instead of the original STK 392-120 and check all resistors in the circuit for proper value. They could be burned or open.

My TV pictures turns black afetr a few hours but I still can hear sound perfectly!!!

It sounds like your rptv lamp is going out. If this is an older DLP this is most likely the cause. You can get a replacement at www.laptopsforless.com part number BP96-00224J for $151. If the tv is still under warranty, I would have them do it, otherwise replace it yourself. If so here is a link to give you step by step instruction. Please give me a good rating. ;-)

RCA RT2250 consistant shutting off in Satalite mode.

Mine will always just turn off every minute or so after a hard shut down(ex: power outtage). I have to turn it back on and then hold the set button for a few seconds, then it stays on, until i turn it off manually, since the remote won't turn it off.
