Takes forever to make a pot of coffee

When I make a pot of coffee it takes over an hour for the water to drip into the pot. From the start of the coffee making it sounds like the end of the cycle but there is only minimal dripping into the pot. I have tried running pots of vinegar and water through but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. Is there any way to take apart so we can see if the water chamber (long tube) is clogged?
Thanks

I had the same problem with a regular coffee pot. The problem was a large piece of coffee ground that was lodged in the water tube check-valve going to the element. This prevented water from getting to the element quickly enough, and what water did get there mostly turned to steam. We had to remove/replace the tube.

Decalcify the water holder. Run some CLR and water thru the brew cycle.

SOURCE: mineral/calcium buildup

I'm curious about the performance of the heater on this pot. Your output temp should be about 180 degrees F. Allow some of the water to run through the system and into a large mug. Measure the temp. If it is low, your problem may be the thermostat.

Why does my mr. Coffee decanter leak?

First I'm not a Mr. Coffee tech but I have worked on similar machines.
* Most decanters are made of tempered glass and unless cracked it should not leak.
* Most overflowing pots are caused by over filling brewing tank. This can be caused by re-pouring additional water into the brew tank. (automatic brewers may have a leaking water valve - call your vendor for service)
* Partial brewing (taking coffee from a brewing pot) and then putting in more water.
* Removing the pot BEFORE it stops dripping. It leaves a puddle of coffee on the warmer plate
*Over filling the water tank. Most times the extra water will spill out the back. But some may overflow into the basket area then the warmer plate.
* Follow the MFR brewing instructions for filling.
* All brewers should stop water drips after brewing. If you get a constant drip AFTER brewing then have the brewer checked or replaced. Call your vendor.

My Mr. Coffee is taking over an hour to brew a pot of coffee

Run a half a pot of vinegar through it then 2 or 3 pots of water. It's from lime and calcium deposits.

Coffee starts dripping down before I can get the water all poured in and the pot on the warmer, causing a mess.

This is common with bunn coffee makers, if you are not fast enough, coffee starts dripping. The only solution I found is to use a water pitcher, first fill coffee pot to cup mark you are using, then pour into pitcher, put pot back on machine, then pour in water. You can mark a line on picture, so you know where to fill to each time.

you need to run a few pots of straight white vinegar through the machine to clean out the lime build up in the tubes. the first time you do it, after it starts to pump the water, shut it off for a few hours and let the vinegar sit in the tubes. after doing this run a few pots of cold water through before making coffee.

Bacon grease in my bunn coffee pot

Did you let the vinegar mix with the hot water in the tank for 2 hours? If this didn't fix the problem, please call 800-352-2866 with the model and date code and we will be happy to assist you with this problem.

Mr Coffee stopped brewing

Sounds like there are a couple of problems -

First, are you certain that the coffee basket is clean? If the coffee basket has a valve on the bottom that allows you to remove the carafe to pour a cup of coffee, make sure the valve is clean. Being dirty would cause it to trickle coffee slowly into the carafe, and will hold coffee in the basket too long.

2nd, you may need to flush the water heating system as they can become corroded with precipitated solids from the water.
To do this, mix 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water in the carafe. Pour into the coffee maker and tell it to make coffee. Do this a couple of times, using a fresh mix of vinegar and water each time. Pour the used mixture down the drain.
When you feel it is clean, follow it up with a fresh pot of water. Then wash and rinse the carafe.

The coffee maker is now ready for it's next use.

Incredibly slow dripping coffee

get out the spring that came with it and ramrod the tube
un screw the shower head and clean that first the ram out the tube then reolace the head
this pot is not heat sensative when brewing coffee, like most of the other types
also pour in a quart of white vinegar, followed by 4 or 5 pots of water

Sounds like a float is stuck in the shut position. You might need to take that to a service technician to double check that operation. Sometimes lines get scalled up with hot water deposits.

Run vinegar through the maker and see if that helps.
