Can a Kenmore Microwave oven Model 401.8504*, 85143 be put on a counter top and used?

Most over-the-range (OTR) microwave ovens have the exhaust fan funning at low speed when the microwave oven is working. This is to keep the magnetron and electronics cool. And it sucks air in from the bottom, so if you just place this microwave flat on the countertop, it won't be able to suck air in, and it could overheat if you use it for more than just a few minutes. But if you can put it on some boards or some sort of grill so air can get to the bottom, then you should be okay to use it as a counter-top model.

Electrolux otr microwave drawing air fromtop of microwave

I would direct you to first refer to your installation instructions to be sure everything is installed correctly.

Then I would refer you to the owner's manual for information on checking and cleaning / changing the grease filter or charcoal filter.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

If you need further help, you can contact Electrolux at 800-944-9044.

How do I change the filter on the Hotpoint RVM1535WMCo01 microwave oven. When I took the top off I can not see a filter to replace. Does that mean that I have been running the Micro for the last year...

Microwave ovens produce dangerous emissions and require servicing by qualified technicians.

I suggest purchase a new one rather than repair because most microwave models cost as much to repair as simply buying a new one.

Can I replace a 1.3 cu ft otr microwave with a 1.5

Brackets can remain the same throughout a particular brand for several years but will also change every year at times. Same year and same brand, I would say yes. Different year of manufacture or different brand name I would say, no it will not fit the existing brackets. If you have a particular brand in mind and have the model number of the existing OTR, it is usually possible to search out installation instructions for both at the manufacturer's website. You could then compare to see if they will match up. The two screws through the upper cabinet floor into thr top of the OTR can vary, within a particular brand even in the same year of manufacturer.

Replace vent over stove with microwave & the

So are you saying that the vent hole doesn't line up with the microwave vent hole? I had a similar problem, it didn't matter since most of the new over the stove microwaves can vent back into the house as an option.

I have Amana Radar Range microwave. The repair guy was just here (fixing my real stove) and told me to change fuse to ''20 amp 250 volt fast acting ceramic fuse.'' Where is the fuse on this microwave?

first unplug your microwave and let sit for awhile to drain any stored energy that may zap you. then, if it is an "otr" there are 2 screws in the vent slats on top that you remove. once removed, you lift up on the control panel and it tilts out. voila! there is your fuse. pop it out and pop in a new one. ceramic 20 amp is correct. check your old fuse to be sure it is 20, not 15 though.

How to Remove an OTR Microwave from the wall

first you need to take the grill off the front of the micro there should be two screws on the very top of the unit that allow you to take the grill cover off there also should be two screws in the cabinet above the micro that hold the unit in place some models have a silver hook or latch on the left side that you pull forward to release the unit from the back plate do not pull on this till you have taken out the two set screw on top of the cabinet after doing this the micro should come down
