Gateway and IP address are the same - HP P3015 Laser Printer

Step one turn on PC directly connected to ModemsbSB6121 without Wi FI router being involved.
Step two go to Command prompt type in ipconfig (press enter)
Step three note IP address of default gateway and ip address issued to P.C.
Step four type in default gateway address into browser and log into Modem.
Step five look for DHCP Server and allocate IP addresses from at least 50 for example 192.168.0.50 starting ip lease ending ip lease 192.168.0.254
Step six connect Wi Router to P.C. via ethernet cable only - remove ModemSB6121
Step Seven shutdown and restart p.c
Step Eight go to Command prompt type in ipconfig (press enter)
Step Nine note IP address of default gateway and ip address issued to P.C.
Step Ten type in default gateway address into browser and log into Wi Fi Router
Step Eleven Change IP address on Router to 2 as example 192.168.0.2. (it has to match in that modem device would have been 192,168.0.1)
(if it was 10.0.0.1 make wi fi 10.0.0.2 make sure subnet mask is the same like 255.255.255.0)
Step twelve Change DHCP Server to off
Step Thirteen may need to set default gateway to MODEM IP address for example 192.168.0.1
Step Fourteen plug modem router into Wi Fi router may need to plug into WAN port on WI FI router .
Step Fifteen shutdown and Restart Computer
Step Sixteen go to Command prompt type in ipconfig (press enter)
Step Seventeen type in PING 192.168.0.1 (if this is modem IP address and default gateway IP addess)
All this above is to avoid IP address conflicts or mismatching
Subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0
either it uses 192.168.0.1 or it uses 10.0.0.1 make sure Wi FI router is set to different address to Modem Router.
I suspect either a clash occurs or your P.C gets a different IP range from ther WI FI DHCP server.

Open command prompt. Type netstat -rn.

The IP address under "Gateway" for either the "default" line or the address 0.0.0.0 would be the gateway IP address of the router and likely the address used to configure it.

For example:

You must assign an IP address to the switch to gain management access over the network. You may also need to a establish a default gateway between the switch and management stations that exist on another network segment. You can statically configure a specific IP address or direct the switch to obtain an address from a Boot Protocol (BOOTP) or Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server when it is powered on. Valid IP addresses consist of four decimal numbers, 0 to 255, separated by periods. Anything outside this format is not accepted by the CLI program. NOTICE: By default, the IP address is assigned to VLAN 1 through DHCP. If you select the bootp or dhcp option, IP is enabled but does not function until a BOOTP or DHCP reply has been received. Requests are broadcast periodically by the switch in an effort to learn its IP address. (BOOTP and DHCP values can include the IP address, default gateway, and subnet mask).
To display assigned IP settings using the CLI:

1. From the Privileged Exec or Normal Exec level mode, type show ip interface and press <Enter>.
   
   

The assigned IP address and subnet mask displays.

1. From the Privileged Exec mode, type show ip redirects to display the assigned gateway IP address. Press <Enter>.
   
   

The following example displays IP settings assigned by bootp or dhcp using the CLI.

Console#show ip interface

IP address and netmask: 10.1.0.1 255.255.252.0 on VLAN 1,

and address mode: User specified.

Console# show ip redirects

ip default gateway 10.1.0.254

Before you can assign a static IP address to the switch, you must obtain the following information from your network administrator:

• IP address for the switch
  
  
• Default gateway for the network
  
  
• Network mask for the network
  
  

To assign a static IP address to the switch:

1. From the Privileged Exec level global configuration mode prompt, type interface vlan 1 to access the interface-configuration mode. Press <Enter>.
   
   
2. Type ip address ip-address netmask, where ip-address is the switch IP address and netmask is the network mask for the network.
   
   
3. Type exit to return to the global configuration mode prompt. Press <Enter>.
   
   
4. To set the IP address of the default gateway for the network to which the switch belongs, type ip default-gateway gateway, where gateway is the IP address of the default gateway. Press <Enter>.
   
   
5. To save your configuration changes, type copy running-config startup-config and then press <Enter>.
   
   

NOTICE: Only one VLAN can be assigned an IP address. If you assign an address to any other VLAN, the new address overrides the original IP address. The following example shows how to set a static IP address using the CLI.

Console(config)# interface vlan 1

Console(config-if)# ip address 192.168.1.5 255.255.255.0

Console(config-if)# exit

Console(config)# ip default-gateway 192.168.1.254

To configure the switch for DHCP or BOOTP:

1. From the Privileged Exec level global configuration mode prompt, type interface vlan 1 to access the interface-configuration mode. Press <Enter>.
   
   
2. At the next prompt, use one of the following commands:
   
   
   • To obtain IP settings through DHCP, type ip address dhcp
     
     
   • To obtain IP setting through BOOTP, type ip address bootp
     
     
3. Press <Enter>.
   
   
4. To save your configuration changes, type copy running-config startup-config, and then press <Enter>.

Log into your router by typing in your gateway I.P. Address. Should be something like: 192.168.X.XXX

To Find your Gateway I.P. Address: Go To Start>Run>CMD> Type into CMD "ipconfig" without the quotes.> Your IP Address and Gateway IP should show up. Type your Gateway I.P. Address into your net browser. From there you should find your way!

Example of CMD:

When configuring an address for the printer, the IP configuration might look like (just an example):

IP Address - 192.168.1.2

Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway - 192.168.1.1

It's important to note that even though you are not using any IP addresses in the default range for DHCP, the Subnet Mask and Default Gateway addresses will be THE SAME.

If you have another device on your network that will be assign a fixed address, you would use for example:

IP Address - 192.168.1.3

Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway - 192.168.1.1

For any other devices, just increment the IP address by one, 192.168.1.4, 192.168.1.5, etc and use the same Subnet Mask and Default Gateway.
(see the owners manual or site for steps on configuraing the printer TCP/IP information). This should take care of any conflicts.

First find out the IP address , Subnet mask,and Gateway addresses of your ISP ( Internet Service Provider ). According to above addresses, you have to complete the network settings of your printer by mentioning the different IP address .

To find out the above mentioned addresses, first open the control panel -> network connections -> local area connction -> properties -> Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPV4) OR Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPV6)according to your ISP -> Properties

By the systematic selection as mentioned above you will get the IP address, subnet mask and Gateway addresses.

Suppose your IP address is 192.168.0.10 , the gateway may be 192.168.0.1 Or any number. And the subnet mask may be XYY.XYY.XYY.0.

According to your ISP addresses you have to complete the network settings of your printer. First press the additional functions -> system settings -> network settings -> TCP/IP settings -> fill up the addresses as follows.

IP address : 192.168.0.16 OR any number .

subnet mask : XYY.XYY.XYY.0.

Gateway : 192.168.0.1

Hurray ! the problem about your network connection with the printer to your computer will be automatically solved.

Default gateway is the IP address of the router.
Connect the computer to the router.
Open the setup page of the router using the current default gateway number.
On the setup page of tghe router, you will see the router local IP address.
You will find the current IP address of the router there.
If you want to change the default gateway, you can change the router Local IP address.
Make sure that it will be a private IP address only and not the public IP address.
suppose the current default gateway is 192.168.1.1.
You can change it to 192.168.x.y. X and Y will be the number between 0 to 254.
