I need to assign an extension to an AVAYA 18d Handset phone with the alpha and numeric designations.

I have found the information about how to assign extensions to BUTTONS on the phone but we need to assign the phone itselfhttp://marketingtools.avaya.com/knowledg... is an example, however we need the numeric designation as well. Does anyone know about this?

I'm guessing if the IP Office instructions don't work for your 18D, try the ACS instructions. 0x gives you numbers.

Assigning new extensions for Avaya Partner ?18 d

My guess is that the wires from the phone system are not connected to the jacks you are plugging into. But to verify, try plugging a display phone into the same jacks. That will prove the theory.

If that is the case you will need to connect the new phones into the phone system.
