The throat between the beater attachment and the bag is probably clogged up, which the vacuum senses as resistance, and shuts off
1. Unplug it.
2. Unscrew the collar in the aforementioned location ( remove a single screw if necessary)
3. Pull out any globs of hair and dust
4. Reassemble
THE PROBLEM SEAMS TO BE WITH THE THICKNESS OF THE CARPET AND THE PAD-ALL VACUUMS NEED TO BE ABLE TO BREATHE IF THE PAD AND THE CARPET ARE THICK THE VACUUM WILL PULL ITSELF TOWARD THE FLOOR SLOW DOWN THE BRUSHROLL ENOUGH TO TRIGGER THE AUTO SHUTDOWN ON THE MAGNESIUM BECAUSE THE VACUUM CANT BREATHE. TAKE IT TO YOUR LOCAL ORECK AND THEY CAN PUT A FEW HOLES IN YOUR SOLEPLATE AND THIS WILL TAKE CARE OF THE ISSUE.
