Installing the software from downloads from the internet is not as straightforward as from the CD/DVD, as each package needs to be downloaded and installed, eg printer driver, scanner driver, OCR software, and so on. However if you go to the page below you can download all the relevant packages.

I looked and found the setup manual and user manual for your printer, neither of these detailed changing the languages.

I found this link which is for the Epson XP 400 printer. I am sending it because it details the steps to changing the language and I hope it helps.

screen on printer says recovery mode and I cant get the ppower light on. Any suggestions?

i got the same problem ..... so if u press the arrow key up,down,left,right this let add a new message FILS IS NOT FOUND

If it's the same one that I know, that printer is far too old. Epson does not have any drivers for Windows 2000, XP, or Vista, let alone Windows 7.
You will need a new printer my friend.

Try to run the ink pad reset utility software.
Please log on to epson.com. The software runs on win xp and win vista.

Necessary you driver are found with system Windows If say in other words, that they already recorded on your hard disk.
System Itself will find them for you during process of the installing the printer.
