From what you have described it sounds as if the water line connection is not solid and secure to the ice maker. If it is leaking water and freezing surrounding items even more that would need to be addressed by a professional if you cannot find any issues yourself. You can try to turn the ice maker off, if it is equipped with a shut off arm or switch, and then look for any issues. You may also want to clear the freezer of items in that area and watch where the leak and new ice form to pinpoint the faulty area(s). Please let me know if you find anything additional out or if you need more help. Good luck!

SOURCE: Freezer leaking water

The drain is plugged just below the coils in the back of the freezer. My fridge had the same problem and I found the hose (which can be accessed from the rear bottom) was plugged with mold. Also, i noticed the hose was connected to the water holding pan and was too close to the bottom and easy to plug. I removed it from the connector and just let it dangle in the holding pan.

First lets decide where your leak actually is.

Areas to consider:
This is mostlikely a stopped up drain pan. A cold area that is not suppose to be cold likewhen you have a freezer coil that is suppose to be defrosting and is not... Seebelow for a more complete ideas list of things to check under Possibility.

The drain pan drain line is themost common. Inspect it and repair as needed, maybe its just a wrapper over the exit hole of the pan.
Some more Possibility's:

1 There is a drain that carries away the water under the cooling coils. Thesecoils are in the freezer section. Its most likely clogged or froze up.

2 The ice maker could be letting water leak all the way down look for an icy trail from the ice maker area.

3 Door gaskets are not sealing especially on the bottom of the door. Thisallows warmer air into the fridge section and it is condensation on floor underthe crisper.

If you check all of these items and still cant find it please post back andtell me what you did find. So I can help you more. Please rate me as much aspossible as Im trying to keep my average up and do the things that willactually educate and help people.

THANK you for using fixya and good luck..

Loose fill tube on ice maker Maytag side by side

Please look around your refrigerator fresh food section door frame for a model number. I believe the reason water is leaking inside freezer is a defective water control valve that you attached to with water line on back of most refrigerators.

JSI-26 icemaker leaking water

You're ice maker is located on the left hand side of the freezer, if I'm correct.
Look to the back of the freezer slightly above the ice maker and you will see what they call the fill tube. Chances are ice has formed inside and when the ice maker goes to fill water sprays instead of flows out. In some models you can take the fill tube out from the back by removing two screws that hold it in, located at the upper right side if your behind it, and some you may have to pull out from inside.

Water leaking into bottom of refrigerator section

Make sure you dry everything in the freezer when you have the door open and remove ice. It won't be a leak it will simply be the warm air inside the freezer that has turned into condensation. Double check the seal around the door to see if it curled up as that could be letting warm in and cold out giving same results.

LSC27926ST REFRIG/freezer. Ice maker is leaking water that freezes on items in freezer, ice is messed up and had to unclog ice maker. Still a logjam of ice around ice maker. has been churning out ice...

The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn't take much to eventually block the fill tube.

Ice maker is frooze up and has quit making ice water has gathered in the bottom of the fridge

this may be a defrost problem being that water in bottom of freezer is coming from frem defrost and drain is blocked
is the freezer down to -18 deg c ?
the other problem is that the water inlet valve is leaking water into chamber when is not meant to
so if water valve is faulty this can happen so replace valve
