When the dryer stops can you advance the timer a little to turn off buzzer? Or when you open the door does the buzzer stop? I was trying to find a schematic for that model but I have had no luck. Power should come from the timer to the buzzer. If you know how to read a schematic. Unplug the unit and remove the back to the control panel. Check to make sure that all the wires to the timer are on the right connections. You may need an appliance repair service from your area to come out and diagnose it for you.

Buzzer won't shut off. only when door is left open

could be a number of things, but you may want to test with an ohmmeter if you have one.
It sounds like your timer needs to be replaced. If the buzzer is not shutting off, the timer may not be turning to the off position. It may be really slow our out of wack, not letting the dryer completely dry. It also could be an error with the dryer's control module (kind of like a computer for the dryer)
I also recommend playing around with door switch, it to may be faulty. If the dryer does work with door closed, it is unlikely to be the door switch. You will have to test timer and door switch with ohmmeter or voltmeter to determine that the voltage current is constant and not speratic or shorting out.

Timer and Shutoff

Go for the timer. The timer is nothing but a bunch of contacts and some minor electronics. When the timer reaches the end of it's cycle, it closes a set of contacts which sends power to the buzzer, which could be bad, therefore continued buzzing. If the timer continues on to the next cycle either the electronics or contacts are shot. This is also age dependant on the dryer how the timer is built. You might go into price shock depending on model. This is not ruling out that if you have a buzzer on off switch might be bad, but I doubt it. Hope this helps. If you are unsure and are good at reading schematics and a meter, then you can be sure.

Kenmore Series 70 Dryer Buzzer won't stop buzzing - Model 110.96573220

  • the buzzer is located under the control panel.
  • you can unplug it.
  • unplug the dryer or turn the breaker off first
  • then take out the 2 screws on both sides of the control panel
  • bull it forward toward you and unhook it from the case
  • you should see the buzzer with two wires going to it
  • only need to disconnect one.
  •  just make sure you wrap the bare wire connector with electrical tape to keep it from touching metal.

Clothes Dryer will not stop or be quiet

On some Kenmore which is made by whirlpool, there is a resistor connected to the timer control. when the machine is off can you listen to the timer switch and hear it running, making a clock ticking sound? If so, you need a new resistor. Being a dryer, when you open the door and it stops the button needs to be reset before it starts again, right? So I wouldnt be looking at the door switch as much as the start button. It may be the evil one.

Dryer will not start properly, buzzer operating

more than likely your timer is faulty too much to replace most timers about same price to replace your dryer if not cheaper
