the red needs to be wired to a 12v+ ACC(dash accessory circuit) which is only powered when the ignition is on, the yellow needs to be wired to a 12+ constant(or, direct line, with in-line fuse to battery +), whether the car is on or off. if the wires behind the dash both lose power when the car is off, the yellow lead will have to be re-ran, possibly thru the firewall, and to the battery(with appropriately insulated wiring, and an appropriate fuse.
instead of going thru all the trouble of running to the battery, it may be beneficial to get a multi-tester ($20-40, usually), in order to test the wires behind the dash for a 12v+ constant and a 12v+ acc.

red is ignition (switched power), black is ground. yellow is constant. you need to use the larger yellow wire. the smaller yellow wire is for operating a changer.

did you buy a factory radio connector to connect the old harness to the new radio wiring if not you can get one at wall mart for 20 dollars and it will be color coded
Use a 12 volt DC test light, or a DC voltmeter & probe until you find one wire/terminal that has power constantly, whether key is on or off. That's the one to join it to, for your memory. Your radio power wire will go to the other unless you want to be able to have your radio working all the time when you turn it on, regardless of whether key is on,or accessory position, and if that's your preference, join it to same.
