It's getting so hot that it's going into thermal protection. Turn down the gains of lighten the speaker load. The more speakers that hook up to it the more power it will put out causing the amp to overheat. Eventually it will burn up some of the output Mosfett Power Transistors.

I was playing music and it just stopped playing. no sound came out. Checked all of the wires and they were fine. I think I blew the amp because no sound comes out with dvds or anything. I just don't know...

Did the receiver shut off, or did it remain powered up?
If the unit overheats, it will shut down. They can also shut down if the volume is maxed out. Most times when this occurs you can power down and wait 5 minutes to power it back up.

What source was being used at the time it stopped transmitting sound?
Have you tried to change sources?

Nakamichi cd cassette player 1 not spinning discs

There's a Music Bank 7-disc player in use in my bedroom these days. Nice unit, but they used to come in for service once in a while- from what I could tell, these units don't 'park' the CD drawers on a soft power off- they simply shut down. When powered up again, they sometimes let the disc last in play slide off the tray & jam the machine. I've had no issues, as long as I always hit stop, wait for it to park, and then shut off. The analog output's sound has been very good (has a coax out as well).

Amp shuts off when trying to play cd

it sounds like you have the amp hooked up to the power antenna lead instead of the amp remote lead. should be two blue wires.

Kenwood amp kac-x401m

How long will the bass play before the amp kicks into protection mode and how loud are you listening to it? I've noticed with my amps that if they don't have enough air flow they will get hot and kick into protection mode. They will also kick into protection mode if you are running it at more than it can handle. Check your adjustments on both your amp and the head unit. Make sure you are not running more bass than the amp can handle.

Protector light keeps coming on

the reason why this is happining is that your pushing to much power than that amp can handle you need to get a bigger amp so it can withstand the power that you want to push to it also the red light comes on so you dont blow the amp.
