Its possible that the Receiver is going into protection mode and possible some speaker cable might have touched the body or with each other.
Remove all inputs and outputs and then restart the receiver. If it starts then you are lucky. Connect all cable and wiring properly and ensure that they do not touch each other. You might have to reset the microprocessor if the recevier has got.
If the problem persist then let me know to further the trobleshooting.
Please do rate this solution and thanks for using FixYa.
I don't really have a solution, but my 605 sometimes does this same thing when using the remote. Try actually touching the on-off button on the receiver itself rather than the remote. This works for me everytime.
To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "CBL/SAT" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings, Thanks, JT
