Its possible that the Receiver is going into protection mode and possible some speaker cable might have touched the body or with each other.
Remove all inputs and outputs and then restart the receiver. If it starts then you are lucky. Connect all cable and wiring properly and ensure that they do not touch each other. You might have to reset the microprocessor if the recevier has got.

If the problem persist then let me know to further the trobleshooting.

Please do rate this solution and thanks for using FixYa.

I don't really have a solution, but my 605 sometimes does this same thing when using the remote. Try actually touching the on-off button on the receiver itself rather than the remote. This works for me everytime.

TX-SR333 Bluetooth worked the 1st time now won't pair up.

Hi, Please try the following reset and then try to pair again.

To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "CBL/SAT" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings, Thanks, JT

Onkyo TX NR515 .. when in standby mode .. light is not coming on .. everything works fine .. i must have pressed something by mistake but cant work it out what ... on the display panel in standby mode...

If Zones are turned on or, if a mobile device connected to the Front Input is charging (MHL), the HYBRID STANDBY indicator won't light. See the TX NR515 owner's manual at http://filedepot.onkyousa.com/Files/own_manuals/TX-NR515_English.pdf for more info.

Hello, the most used buttons can wear out over time. On/standby and volume are the ones that are used most often. I suggest purchasing a new remote. It is available at shoponkyo.com. Thank you, Onkyo USA

Trips and switches off

Hello Fixya customer,

Thank you for your question.

The best way to fully isolate the fault is to disconnect all the speaker wires, and verify that there are no strands of wire shorting between the speaker terminals on the rear of the unit.

Turn the volume all the way down, full CCW, and if it goes into shut down with the STBY light blinking then there is a fault in one of the amplifier's.

Thank you for using Fixya, and if I can be of further assistance please ask.

My reciver just shutdown then went into standby mode. Will not power back on. How do I fix this problem?

What do you mean by standby mode? Do you hear the power relay switch clicking constantly, or does it just click once and turn off? In any case, it could be a faulty power relay. I just sent in my TX-SR806 for warranty repair recently, and it ended up being just that.

Onkyo TX-SR605 - Suddenly switches itself off and back on

HI, this is a reset procedure that this unit is trying to initiate. there has been a surge of some sort that the system has survived but, there is some lasting damage as well that has resulted in a slight programming error within the mother board.

This unit has a program that was installed at the manufacture. it runs the basic operations. there has been some major damage that is causing the internal program to stall and reset itself. the only way to reprogram is to send it back to the manufacture or, you can locate a local repair depot through Onkyo. the Onkyo techs are the only option when re programing is needed.
