Hi, i have tried connecting my JVC Everio GZ-MG130 Camcorder to my dell laptop which has windows vista home premium installed but after repeated attempts i have failed to make any headway. it recognizes the camcorder but is unable to find and driver for it, while the everio site says vista has the driver inbuilt. plz help

Thank you Silverdragon for the solution.
Here i would also like to add that my issue with vista was more of usb related rather than being JVC specific. almost all my usb devices failed.
To correct the JVC and all other usb related issues you need to delete the inf files from folder c:/windows/inf and restart the computer
a detailed explanation is given at the link provided below http://forums.logitech.com/logitech/boar...

once the computer is restarted connect the JVC camcorder to the system, windows will start searching and will ask you for the driver location. select the location as c:/windows and the driver will get installed. If you get a message saying windows cannot verify the manufacturer select install anyway and it will get installed.

None of these solutions work.

I have a mouse that works fine in one port, but is "Unknown Device" in the other ports. I try to tell Windows that it uses the same drivers and it just refuses to accept it. (gives error sound when I try to click "ok" on find driver.)

I'm told this is a common error with Vista, but of course, the MS site basically says, "your devices suck" instead of recognizing the errors of its own system.

Have you tried installing the supplied software the Setup/Install program in Administrator Mode, with Compatibility Mode set for XP? Install the software like this and AFTER you install it THEN plug in the camera, if it asks for drivers.. let it search the computer point or it to the CD.. Hope this was of some help.

I have JVC Everio GZ-MG630AU camcorder and when I connect to my computer, it just says USB Device Not Recognized. I have Windows Vista and have tried all of my USB ports to no avail. My email is...

Please check the camcorder with another PC so as to confirm the hardware in the camcorder. If this is not detected then there are errors in the camcorder main processing section which is not interfacing with the external port.
however if the camcorder works with another PC then it is possible that you PC has to be reinstalled with the OS and the drivers.

Does not work w/vista

Hi,

Download the patch once again from HERE .
Note: Only after you have installed for Everio you can nstall the patch. After you have installed the patch, just connect your MG130 to your computer through the included USB cable. Then the software should run automatically.

Goodluck,

My JVC everio GZ-MG555us did not work with my HD laptop window Vista.

When you plug in the camera XP should see it as an external drive.
You will need to copy all the MPG files over manually.
Check the JVC site regularly for a Vista software pack.

Everio gz-mg130 won't work with vista

It is easier to connect your camcorder through the included "PowerCinema NE for Everio". First (since you're running Vista), you have to download a patch. Here is the address: http://www2.cli.co.jp/products/ne/update_everioM7SD/pcm4e_update.htm
Note: Only after you have installed PowerCinema NE for Everio can you install the patch. After you have installed the patch, just connect your MG130 to your computer through the included USB cable. Then the software should run automatically.
Hope this Helps
