Blew a fuse, tv wont turn back on - Akai LCT2715 27 in. LCD Television

Sounds like a power surge hit your TV. Typically when this happens capacitors on the power board with blow. You can buy a repair kit for this problem from several of the dot coms out there. The best one I have found has been tvrepairkits .com. Hope this helps.

With DVD player on hit the button on steering wheel to change source. It will come on thur speakers. Screen will show turn off turn off front back or all.

if you plugged a 125 volt tv in to a 220 volt outlet you more than likely fried alof of the componets in the tv. Putting a bigger fuse in there is only going to increase the risk of it catching on fire so i would not recomend that. you might replace the power supply and cross your fingers and hope that nothing else cooked when the 220 volts hit it

Sounds like you probably should have had a surge protector, Kind of an expensive lesson to learn. 20 or 30 bucks for a couple thousand dollar pay off, but anyway, learn from the mistake and put your computer and stuff on one. Well anyway, most TV's will have a fuse in the main power supply that you can order from allied electronics, or your local radio shack. Hopefully you are lucky and after you replace the fuse the TV comes right back to life, if not, it is an excellent excuse to make a trip to your local best buy. =) Hope this helps,  Funnyguyjake

Maybe the horizontal output IC are on short circuit.

depends on how old the tv is , i would persoanally take off the back cover and check the fuse to see if it blew , if not call the manufacter and tell them your problem if the tv is not that old , if the tv is more than 5 years , i would buy a new one , sincerely john

If the TV is blowing the fuse in your house, It looks like a component in the power supply is shorted.
To fix the TV, you will need to buy a new power supply module or get the one inside the TV fixed.

The surge most likely shorted the horizontal output transistor, and with that being shorted, it causes the power supply to "sing" from the increased load it is seeing. Unfortunately, it would probably cost near $100 to repair unless you were able to do it yourself.

check if the main fuse blew up. good luck!
