This is the strangest thing I've ever seen. I have a Gateway FPD1975W TFT Monitor and its always worked great. The other day it went into a sleep mode via windows, and now it wont boot up the input...

Hello,

Your monitor problem is causes by the power supply. What is happening is the power supply voltages are not stable, just enough to power the unit up. When you connect it to a video signal the power demands slightly increase and the power supply can't handle it. This is a very common problem with LCD after a few years of use. The issue with the power supply is the capacitors have started to fail. These parts are used to filter the output voltage and when they start to fail the outputs start rippling hence the problem you are having. Here is a link to a repair article that shows how to repair the Gateway FPD1975W monitor.

I hope this helps you get back going.

This is a common problem with many LCD monitors. The
printed circuit board that provides a stable voltage for the monitor to operate
from starts to fail. The PCB can be replaced, when/if they are available, or repaired
in most cases at a much lower cost. for more information on this email me at

Gateway HD2201 monitor, the touch menu buttons are not working. The menu is up on the screen but cannot get it to go way since the touch buttons do not work. Any ideas? Is there a way to reset that may...

kruwv, Use Gateway warranty first!!! Else gateway swapout+ cash for a factory refurbed unit if program exists. Did you un-plug unit from wall outlet and then reconnect power? Problem same? How old is unit? Approximate total "ON" Hours does unit have??? Do any of the buttons appear to be "stuck"?? Was unit working perfectly the "day" before? When strange things occur with CCFL backlit LCD displays I would first suspect the "switch-mode-power-supply" as area to look first. Have you unplugged the power cord for 2 min. Try that, there are problems with these "locking" and unplugging sort of "reboots" them.

Dell 410XPs + Dell 3007WFP monitor issues

Vinod,
That's quite strange as during system startup you should see the Dell POST logo as at that point the card is only running at VGA, and the monitor will support display at this resolution. If you connect with a normal single DVI cable the monitor should display at 1280x800 also.
Have you tried this? Also have you had this monitor working on another computer at all? What happens if you power up the 3007 with no video cable connected? It should cycle through the pixel test screens. If you are not getting that, and you are not getting the pre POST logo during powerup i suspect that it is a screen failure.

Will come on-then say no signal

If you mean the monitor is fine during the Windows booting process and then just as your about to go into Windows goes black then do this...

Start the computer
When the bios screen goes start pressing F8
A Windows Startup screen will appear
If you see the Windows Logo (the loading one) then hit reset and try again
At the Windows Startup page, select Safe Mode and press enter twice.

Windows will now load. Go into Device Manager (Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Device Manager)
Select the video card, and uninstall it.
Restart Windows
Reinstall your video card using the Installer package (if it's ATI or nVidia)

If this dosn't work, then post back and we will try something else
