Does anybody here know how to open this netbook to upgrade the memory? I know it only has 1 socket of 1 GB DDR3. So that means I need 1 stick of 2 GB memory. I unscrewed the 3 screws at the bottom of laptop but the case wouldn't not open to reveal the inside. Any idea how to open this netbook?

Are you saying that there are only 2 slots for ram or 4, if 4 then you may have a dual channel lap top, in which case you need all of the ram to match, they all have to be the same exact ram.you cant mix and match, also is the bios recent, it sounds like you may need a bios flash if the laptop isn't recent. And there may be a limitation on the amount of ram it takes, I just setup a brand new acer and it only two gig max, see if they offer a bios update

You may have installed a memory card or stick (unit) that is not compatible with your computer. Make sure the unit is compatible, as you cannot add just any brand of memory upgrade units to any computer. They have to be compatible.
I suggest visiting the store of where it was purchased or a computer store, or possibly the manufacturer of the computer to find out what memory units are compatible.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
