LG DLP RU-44SZ51D Lamp Indicator blinks red

I have the same problem as Shawn. I'm hoping after about a year this post may pop back up and get a response from someone who could help.

push the MUTE button on your remote control at the same time as pushing the OKbutton on your tv set . Hold for at least 10 - 15 seconds . You should now see a page on your screen that will tell u total lamp hours

Locate and remove the lamp which should be behind a removable door on the right side as you look from the front of the set.

If it is shattered you have found your problem; if it looks undamaged you have either a possible bad ballast which powers it or a power problem.

This model can be difficult to work on as there are at least 3 different versions which use different circuit boards.

Hi,Lg lamps are usually in the back.This is your part # 6912B22007A you have to choose between the small square lamp with 4 corners and 2 ventilation holes or big and round lamp. If it says lamp above or below this red light it's a good bet.

If the second light is blinking to orange or red, that is usually the lamp indicator light on an LG DLP tv. That indicates your bulb needs replaced, or something surrounding the bulb has failed (like the cooling fan for the bulb for example) IF you have a spare bulb handy, I'd replace the bulb, keeping in mind if you touch any part of a new bulb with your bare hands, you just cut the life of the bulb by more then half.

look in the customer menus for lamp hours reset

It can if you lamp has exceeded 8000 hours.
