"Add a printer" in "My Computer"/"Printers" or "Control Panel"/"Printers". The 6122 will print from the HP 920, 930, 932, 940 & 950 drivers also - (which are included with many Windows systems). If you chose the 970 driver it will want a second sheet of paper to print a test page, which you can ignore and it will stop trying. All drivers seem to be the same print quality in my systems. I do not use the 970 or 6122 driver at all so I don't have an ink level monitor or any possible related potential glitch.

Your printer needs some manual servicing.
It's advised that you leave it for a qualified technician to do that.
From the problem you described, the encoder sensor may be causing this problem.

I wet and slap stubborn old ink cartridges to un-stick dry jets. sometimes I use a small clear silicone tube to suck a bit of ink to get them started as the jet holes need priming sometimes if they are old.

try getting a new printer and replace it ask them why it has problems

If you have Windows Vista, the driver is built in. If you have XP you can download it from:

that's the latest software and driver pack for your printer under xp. Uninstall the driver you have and install this. Even if you have the same driver loaded, at least it'll put the default settings back.
If you still have problems, try doing the same job in firefox 2, it might just be a bug in Mozilla's newest update..
