I put new batteries in and they were fully charged I plugged the charger in for the 24 hours the book called for. I started using the chair but the batteries will not recharge.

Sounds like the batteries are completely dead, you'll probably need to replace them, sometimes you can only use batteries until they die, and that goes for Wheelchair Batteries too. If they won't charge or keep a charge then they are dead.

My chair is an M91 I purchased used from a private owner. Believe it's a 2002 model. I've driven it hard and long so it may be terminal. It died the other day in a rain storm. After sitting for 48 hours, when I turn it on all the light illuminate and then immediately go out. I have new batteries but have not installed them. Is it likely that the new batteries will help? I have to figure out how to get the chair from where it died home to where the batteries are.
