SOURCE: Leaking dishwasher

when you state "there is water leaking out of the drain hose", then that leak must be fixed either by a new hose or to repair the hose. as far as the timer issue, i need more info.

SOURCE: Leaking dishwasher

Are you washing cereal bowls or mixing bowls on the bottom rack? If so, are you placing them in front? Sudden leaks that form huge puddles can often be attributed to improper loading of the dishwasher. Most dishwashers don't have a seal across the tub front. The door closes over it and does a pretty good job of deflecting water back inside the wash cavity. However, if you place bowls in the front on the bottom rack rack they can divert the water right over the tub lip and onto the floor. This is usually the culprit that causes most leaks in dishwashers. Now, if you don't think you have a loading problem, remove the kick panel on the bottom of the dishwasher and check the drain line and pump housing for leaks. Check the door gasket for tears or cracks. Lastly, feel inside the bottom of the door with your hand. You should be able to feel the door insulation. If it is wet, then the problem could be a leak around your soap or rinse-aid dispenser. Depending on the model, some dispensers are mounted to the door with a gasket behind it. Sometimes this gasket can form leaks. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: leaking water

Try to touch the lower door seal, it sometimes jumps out of its place when you open the dishwasher door. You may consider replacing the seal with a new one, I have to push the seal on my dishwasher to its proper place before every cycle. It is quite annoying, but free :-)

SOURCE: Maytag Dishwasher Leak

HI. this is a inlet assembly issue. The water inlet valve can be identified by the water hoses connected to it. One hose will lead from the valve to the pump/motor assembly in the center of the dishwasher. Check that the hoses are securely connected to the valve and that there are no kinks in the hoses which could restrict water flow. There are two wires (four, if it has two solenoids) connected to the water inlet valve. Label the wires and connections so that you can properly reconnect them later. The wires are connected with slip on connectors. Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire itself). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If either is corroded they should be cleaned or replaced.

Use a continuity tester or multimeter to test for continuity. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. Touch one probe to each terminal. A reading of infinity indicates a bad solenoid that must be replaced. Different brands and models will have various measurements, but the valve should show some resistance if it is functioning properly. If your valve has two solenoids, test the second one in the same way as the first.

If the solenoid is working properly, but water leaks through the valve even when the dishwasher is off, then the valve itself is the problem. Debris may be preventing the valve from closing. If the valve cannot be cleaned, it will have to be replaced. The valve can also fail mechanically. So even if it passes the electrical test, it may still require replacement. If you have ruled out all other possibilities, go ahead and replace the valve.

***(((NOTE-- It i possible that the valve housing has cracked as well. make sure that the hoses are connected properly during your testing. If there are no hose issues, this will be a defective valve assembly)))

SOURCE: Leaking from the lower right hand side during rinse cycle.

I had the problem with dribbles of water from the right side lower edge of the door, causing puddles across the floor.
Found there was a RECALL on MDB6000AWW models. The door inside panel was replaced by the dealer for free. No more puddles.

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today.I would start by removing the outer door panel remove the screws around the inner door to do this. Then close the door and start a cycle. Sometimes you can see obvious signs of leaks just by removing the panel too. But if not let it run and see if you see water leaking anywhere. You will see water in the bottom corners its normal. If water is splashing over those corners the check the lower spray arm gor damage or cracks it can cause this problem also make sure the screws under the spray arm are tight. also check the upper arm.

Our Maytag dishwasher model MDB4000 leaks from the door, but not every use. The leak started just on the left corner, but now sometimes leaks from the middle. The diswasher is 12 years old.

Usually this is caused by a bad door seal.
It can easily be removed and replaced.

Maytag Jet Clean leaking through right side of door during rinse

It is important to examine the leak to see where it probably originates.

If the water is leaking from the right hand side of the door on your dishwasher, it is time to replace the gasket that seals the door when the door is latched.

Washer leaks from bottom during rinse cycle

Take the cover off the back, and look up, next to where you put the soap in, when it's filling/rinsing. There is (like) a (white) plastic valve body, and look to see if water is dripping out of it. I haven't figured out a solution to that yet, other than to replace it.

Also check the boot, coming off the pump. You could have a bad/dry boot, or a loose hose clamp.
