I can't my Disc to eject from my Wii Console. Does anyone have a solution to this problem, other than taking it in for service?

I tried Yavier's suggestion and I still can't get my disc to eject from my Wii console.

  • chynnarowe Mar 03, 2009

Sorry lostinfamily. Your suggestion didn't work either. I'm still looking for something that will work to eject the disc from my Wii.

  • chynnarowe Mar 03, 2009

Sorry Steve. A couple of good whacks didn't eject the disc either. I'm still looking for a solution.

  • chynnarowe Mar 03, 2009

No good Guru. That doesn't work either.

  • chynnarowe Mar 03, 2009

hari86. there is only one screw; and it secures the battery cover.

  • chynnarowe Mar 03, 2009

I'm logging off for the evening. Some of the responses I'm getting do not relate to the Wii console. The Wii does not have a pin hole for manual ejection. That's the one thing I checked for initially when the problem first started. Hope to get some better assistance tomorrow.

  • chynnarowe Mar 03, 2009

Thanx Askmee. I tried all of your suggestions;and none of them worked, except possibly the last one. I think I'll just call because I'm not getting any real satisfactory tips here. Thanx anyway.

Try all of these steps:
1. Turn the Wii off and on again after about 20 seconds. Press the eject button again. If no help:
2. Unplug the Wii's AC power supply if Step 1 doesn't work. Wait 1 to 2 minutes, and trying to eject the disc again after turning the Wii back on. If no help: 3. Hold down the eject button for 5 to 10 seconds. Still not: 4. Try ejecting the disc with the Wii at different angles. If you hold the Wii upside down, it may help the disc fall out. if no help: 5. See if power light was coming on and do the AC adapter reset. unplug from both ends for 90 seconds.Hold eject button for 5-10 seconds Finally: Call Nintendo 1-800-255-3700 and send the Wii back if non of these steps work. In most cases, a disc stuck in the Wii should be covered by warranty. Good Luck

If you take the front cover off, it should have an emergency eject hole that you can stick a paper clip into.  Other than that, you might need to take the disk drive out and take the cover of it off.

Hi,
Only way is to dismantle the wii then eject the disk as it will be voiding the warranty.
Check for the pin hole behind the fron bazel and if the model does not have then dismantling is as described

Hiding screws under stickers and rubber pads is a common method used by electronics manufactures to help increase the aesthetics of their devices, as well as prevent people from easily locating screws and taking apart their products.
  1. Unscrew the two Triwing screws and three Phillips screws from the bottom of the Wii.
  2. I can't my Disc to - thwiifig03.jpg Figure 3

  3. Flip the Wii over onto its right side. Locate and remove the two rear rubber feet and the two rectangle stickers near the faceplate.
  4. Remove the two silver Triwing screws in the holes and remove the two black Triwing screws on the faceplate (Figure 4).
  5. thwiifig04.jpg Figure 4
    Left side screw locations
  6. Flip the Wii upright and carefully remove the two socket covers. They come right out with a little wiggling.
  7. Remove the three black Phillips screws from the black plate (Figure 5). Note the one closest to the faceplate is the longest and will need to go back into that hole when putting the Wii back together.
  8. thwiifig05.jpg Figure 5

  9. With the screws removed, carefully pull off the faceplate of the front of the Wii. You will need to disconnect the red/black wire plug from the Wii to remove the faceplate completely. Figure 6 shows what is hiding under the faceplatI can't my Disc to - thwiifig06.jpg thwiifig06.jpg Figure 6

  13. Lay the Wii on left side (with the ATI and Nintendo logo facing you) and slowly work the right side cover of the console off the device. This will take a little bit of force. If something appears to be stuck, double check to ensure you removed all the screws.
  14. Locate and remove four screws holding DVD reader in place. Two are located in plain site in the middle of the unit. Two are located near the front of thI can't my Disc to - thwiifig08.jpghe DVD unit (Figure 8).

Be careful of the small square nut located on the bottom part of the piece, as well as the arm that I can't my Disc to - thwiifig14.jpgnserted into the body of the Wii. To remove this, just lever the arm gently away from the Wii when lifting the black plastic piece out (Figure 14).

There shoud be a small hole on the drive itself. You can try and insert a paperclip opened up to force the eject.

Hi..
Step 1: Open the case panel with a screwdriver.
Step 2: Remove the CD-Drive by unscrewing it from the tray (you may need to disconnect the power from the back - just make sure you make sure you put them back in in the same way when you're done!)
Step 3: Turn the CD-Drive upside-down and locate the four screws in the far corners (which most likely hold the top cover on) or locate the screws which hold the top cover on.
Step 4: Unscrew the screws and remove the top cover, gently and slowly! You should have free access to the disk inside.

Once done, put everything back together. :)
try this out..
thank u..

To eject a WII disc out manually very easily:
- Disconnect the drive
- You see the white plastic mechanism on your right side and the wheel connected to the motor
- turn the wheel towards the back side of the drive while pushing the half inch square plastic piece towards the left.
You will see the disc coming out while you are turning the wheel.

Try to unplug it wait about 30seconds to a minute and then plug it back in. The system will do a systems check along with ejecting all cd's that are in the system similar to a regular CD player

Try first unplugging the Nintendo power cable for two minutes.

After reconnecting try pressing the eject many times while you start up, do this a couple of times.

My disc will not eject from my Wii console. The console appears to be in working order except that the disc will not eject nor will it play. What should we do?

Sounds like the drive is broken. It's possible that the only way to get the disc out would be to take the wii apart.

Try some of these techniques too: http://www.ehow.com/video_4952307_troubleshooting-disc-stuck-nintendo-wii.html

I drop my nintendo wii console, and later I tried to eject the disc, but it didn't work. I could only play the game that's inside the wii.

I've seen many people with this same problem.

I think if you drop the Wii, the disc ejecter breaks or something. Then you can't eject the disc or vice versa because the ejecter is broken. Call Nintendo Customer Service (1-800-255-3700 in the USA or Canada) and try to get it repaired.

Disc stuck in wii console

Your Wii will require Warranty service from Ninteno. However, if you send your unit chances are they won't return the disc.

How to open your wii – http://wiki-scene.com/Wii_disassembly
Once you get to – 'Remove 4 DVD drive screws' Dont do that, just take the 5 screw off the top of the Drive, and the drive will split into 2 and you can easily remove your disc. Reassemble and contact Nintendo for Warranty service.

Disc will not eject

your problem seems to be a failure in the Slot load Tray. it seems that the mechanism which assists in ejecting the Disc could require repairing/replacing.

i would suggest getting in touch with Nintendo customer services about this issue due to it being an internal hardware fault !
