Use the thumb drill to literally drill a hole into the side of the old cartridge. Make sure to chose a location that's closer to the top of the ink cartridge to avoid over spillage when you add the new ink. Once you have the hole just squeeze in some ink of corresponding color into the hole. Not a huge amount, but enough to get some use out of it before the next refill. I highly recommend covering the hole afterward with a sticker or something so that you don't dry out the cartride. Reinsert the cartridge into the printer and use. (: All set!

1.Place a piece of paper towel on a flat surface. Remove the empty ink cartridge from the printer. To do this, open the cover and wait for the ink dispenser to move the ink to the open door. Lift up the tap that holds the ink cartridge in place and pull out the cartridge. Push the tap holder back down and close the cover.
2.Place the ink cartridge on the paper towel. Gather the ink refilling kit together with directions and place the ink jars on the paper towel along with the syringe needle.
3.Find the indents on the top of the empty ink cartridge. Poke these holes open with the pen. Sit the cartridge down and open the ink containers. The colors are yellow, cyan and magenta.
4.Read the directions to see where each color goes in the ink cartridge. Insert the syringe needle into the ink container and raise the stopper up until you have the recommended amount of ink to fill into the particular hole.
5.Insert the needle into the hole on the ink cartridge and slowly dispense it into the cartridge. Remember to go slow with this step. If you see the ink oozing out, stop filling and wipe with a paper towel.
6.Cover the holes with the tabs that come in the refill kit or you can use tape. Make sure the hole is sealed to prevent spilling or the ink drying up. Then replace the ink cartridge back into the holder in the printer.

Color Cartridge 1. Place the cartridge over somepaper towels in case there are any spills.Remove the label sticker from the topof the color cartridge. 2. Insert the needle into the refill hole that is located below thetwo protruding rectangles on the top of the cartridge. Slowly inject the ink. 4. Fill a syringe with 6 mL of cyanink. Insert the needle into the refill hole located below the large rectangleon the top of the cartridge. Slowly inject the ink into the cartridge. 5. Fill a syringe with 6 mL of yellowink. Black Cartridge 1. Set the cartridge on some paper towels. 2. Drill a hole into the dimplelocated directly above the semicircle on the top of the cartridge.Fill asyringe with 20 mL of black ink. Following the the common procedure for refilling the Ink Cartridge


There are 2 distinct method
1) Black has a bladder
2) Color contains sponges - we need 3 sirenges with needle
to fill the Color cartridge with sponges - simply punch

COLOR CARTRIDGE

1. If you see the Cartridge turn it round and locate the filler holes by removing the plastic top cover of the cartridge.
You may need to pry plastic top or hole cover off using a thin metal blade.
please make sure that you do not damage the sensors on the back of the cartridge whilst doing this.

2. Using the picture(on the cartridge which shows you the 3 differed colored spots), fill syringe with the corresponding color ink.

3. Insert the syringe into the correct hole of the color being filled and push all the way down.
Notes : You will feel resistance as there is a sponge inside.

So Slowly inject approximately 8ml of ink until you can just see the ink surface on the top of the sponge, any more and it is over-filled.
If this happens simply draw back on the syringe a little.

4. Rinse the syringe and needle thoroughly before proceeding then repeat the process for the other colors.

8. Re-attach the cover securely with adhesive tape and continue using the cartridge.




BLACK CARTRIDGE

1. Fill the syringe with approximately 20ml of black ink.

2. Push the syringe all the way into the filling hole and SLOWLY inject all the ink into the cartridge or until the reservoir is full.

3. Replace the cartridge and run 1 - 3 cleaning cycles as per printer instructions.

4. If necessary leave cartridge in printer for up to 24 hours. (This allows ink to flow to the print head).

You need to use a very thin needle (25 gauge medical needle works well) on a syringe. There is a tiny hole in the canon 40 cartridge under the label which you need to fill. To refill the color cartridge (canon 41) as you look at the cartridge, the hole at the top is magenta, the hole to the left is blue and the hole to the right is yellow, use a separate syringe and needle for each color. Every now and then you will need to use some cartridge cleaner to soften/clean the sponge in the cartridge. I use 0.5cc of cleaner then let sit overnight before adding ink. You need to be sure the label is replaced well or use good tape to keep the ink from escaping.

The holes are under the top label - I'm not sure which hole is for which colour.

need to know how to refill the cartridges. I don't see a place to refill them. It is cheaper for me to buy a brand new printer than it is to buy the new cartridges when the ink runs out. Thats crazy.
