Thanks for this. I've looked at this already and although it's a similar model it has a different layout and features I don't have on my G15MS.Thanks for this. I've looked at this already and although it's a similar model it has a different layout and features I don't have on my G15MS.

I haven't played or worked on a MG100HFX but I understand amp circuits very well. The behavior you are describing sounds to me like a bad capacitor in the Treble circuit. This is a problem that would require the skills of an experienced amp tech. If you are within your warranty period you might want to return it. If not, a good local repair shop should be able to diagnose the problem.
Yes you can as long as the speaker impedance when paralleled doesn't go below the rating of the amp. Marshall seems to hide their design lowest output impedance. Possibly you can find that in your owner's manual. Then find the impedance of the JBL. If half the JBL impedance is equal to or greater than the lowest impedance the Marshall is rated, you are fine to use it. The speaker Watt rating should always be bigger than the amp rating which it is in this case.
Read your manuals for both pieces of gear carefully first. You only have one amp so you won't be able to take advantage of all the FX on the Digitech as a lot of them are designed for stereo. The Digitech manual shows guitar into the Digitech and output from the Digitech into input of any guitar amp. Since you have a Marshall and can already get some great sounds by running your guitar straight into the Marshalls input, you would probably be better off using your Digitech in the FX loop. Run a guitar cord out of the send on the loop into the input of the Digitech and a guitar cord out of the left / mono output jack on the Digitech into the effects return jack on the Marshall. Start out with the effects level on the Marshall all the way down. Do the same with the Digitech with both the input and output levels. (Read the manual carefully) I think the choice of the Digitech isn't that great because it is already trying to reproduce a lot of what you can already get with just your Marshall but with a little experimentation and some careful adjustments you should be able to add to the sound of the Marshall. Hope this helps.
Play around with your placement and where you are compared to the amp. I have a line 6 spider jam and I was getting pissed everytime I went into guitar center b/c theirs had more bass than mine. Then I realized that I put the amp beside me when I play but I play infront and over it when I go there. Have you ever noticed how much gain you lose when you take it outside compared to in your room. I would just look up the owners manual and see if you are missing anything. Check the fuse in the back too. If you clean isnt "that" clean and your overdrive is sucking then maybe the fuse is on its way out. Only $1 problem though. good luck
Try carefully cleaning your cooling fan with qtips for the blades and a vacuumn. See if that helps the fan. If not it will need to be replaced. If you are experienced with amp repairs have a look for loose parts on the circuit board. If you can safely disassemble it, look at the soldered side for bad solder joints. From another poster on here with the same problem I have learned that resoldering R107 and R96 helped. Make sure they aren't burned out or have changed in value. They are in the FDD circuit. Have a look at your owners manual and it will make sense. The schematic is available here:http://www.ampix.org/displayimage.php?album=search&cat=0&pos=0 If it doesn't come up use the search function on that site. Do not attempt to service this yourself unless you are absolutely sure you won't hurt yourself or the amp.
