Moved my computer and when trying to hook up monitor "Acer" comes up on screen then light goes orange and nothiing

usually when you turn a monitor on it will display the company name of that monitor. Then after that it waits for the signal from the computer if there is no signal coming from the computer it usually has to do with the video card

No signal from computer after Windows XP loading screen comes up: when I turn the computer on, there's video signal to the monitor, but once it gets to Windows loading, it stops and goes black.

Does it do the same when you bootup in safe mode (hit f8 key while booting up)? if it is OK in safe mode, then it is software problem, not hardware.

I am in charge of a computer account here at work and have about 15 ACER 1916B monitors that are all inop...The monitors power up and show the ACER startup then show the windows startup to only go...

This problem is caused by 2 things, the computer is set to a higher resolution that the monitors can handle, so when the graphics card drivers kick in as windows boots the screen goes blank, this is normally the problem for people trying to hook there computers to normal lcd televisions not monitors, as monitors generally are able to show higher resalutions.

In your case because you are using computer monitors, the problem will be caused by the refresh rate settings on the windows, most desktop lcd monitors have a fixed refresh rate of 60hz, my guess is your computers are set as 75hz therefore as windows boots the screen goes blank because it dosent support that high a refresh rate.

To resolve this problem, just before windows boots press F8 on the keyboard, this should bring up a black command prompt screen, at the top you will see the safemood option, tab up to it and press enter, this goes to windows but dosent load any drivers including the graphics driver. Once loaded right click the mouse in the middle of the screen, and bring the display properties window up, in this window click on the settings tab, click on advanced on the bottem right of the window, this will bring up another window, click on the monitor tab, on this window you will see the screen refresh rste setting, click the small arrow and set this to 60hz and click ok, in the other window reduce the resalution down abit using the slider, click apply and close the window, then reboot the mechine as normal, the problem should now be sorted, any problems post me back. thanks and hope this helped.

Hello i just installed my chimei 19" lcd to my hard drive and i have connected it all up right it all loads up but when my screen comes on the little button on screen goes from green to red and says no...

Most probably your monitor has two inputs, one digital and one analog. Using the monitor's on screen menu select the other input and you should see your picture.

I plug the acer monitor in and then it works for 6 sec and turns black

What are you plugin the Acer Monitor into? Is your PC on? Do you have to load drivers? Did you turn your PC off then turn it back on so that Windows can detect the type of monitor?

Acer AL1916W pluged into lap top but can't get both to run.

Have you used the Fn button on your laptop and changed the video display Icon on the Blue Function keys. You need to change the display wait a few seconds for it to take affect. There are several modes try them all so you know how to use them.

Acer Monitor boots up w/computer then "no signal"

you must have disconnected it while the pc was running.damage can occur while doing this as can a keyboard (they are not like USB devices that can be plugged and unplugged while "hot".)

No Signal

Probably the settings on the computer graphics card output.
You need to selct the external screen.

Just to be sure it's not a screen fault, are you able to test it on another PC (desktop, not laptop)?

Input not supported

You may have a video resolution selected on your computer that the screen doesn't support.

The reason you see the the initial startup message is because that is loaded from the bios, prior to the settings for the graphic card output being loaded.

Try booting the computer in safe mode and adjusting the display resolution.
