Make sure you have the wireless icon on the taskbar lower right side. If it does not show connected, click the icon and search for wireless devices, you should see the router. connect to the router. Also make sure you have a solid DSL/CABLE status light on the service modem. BPCS

Yes there's a possibility that the router is dead already because that diag light will only be lit up when there's a hardware failure on it, you can try press resetting the router by holding the reset button for 30 seconds then power it off then power back on hopefully the diag light will be off, if still on you need to replace the router already...
Hope that helps.........

Take a "straight-through" Ethernet-cable, and connect the network-port on your PC to one of the LAN ports on the router.
Turn the router off.
Turn the router on.
Restart your computer.
Rerun the Linksys CD-ROM.

The easiest way is to run a long Ethernet cable from one of the 'LAN' (or 'network') ports on the "first" router to the 'WAN' (or 'Internet') port on the second router. The "first" router is the one connected to your cable-modem or DSL-modem. Both routers will auto-configure themselves for this "wired" connection. Configure the wireless-adapter in the second router as per normal.
Or, run a long Ethernet cable from the cable-modem (or DSL-modem) to a location in the "center" of your home, where you can put your wireless-router, such that its signal spans the entire building.
Or, move the cable-modem (or DSL-modem) to a location in the "center" of your home, and connect the one router at that location.
