You can replace it yourself and get the part from an appliance dealer for about 10-20 bucks.  If you don't want to, you can get it fixed for around 50-60 bucks.  Hope it helps.

The prime suspect in this case is always the drawer limit switch. On the DD602's, the limit switch is located on the very back of the left drawer guide which means.to remove the switch the drawer needs to come out.

and for further instruction on how to do it manually without calling repair person just click this link and read the instructions and follow them properly

According to http://www.scribd.com/doc/6462163/DD601V2-Manual, the dishwasher thinks that the door is open. This means either that the microswitch has failed or the exhaust valve failed open circuit. Neither of these should be very expensive to fix. Your friend might be wrong or he might be right, if it's the microswitch then it'll be pretty cheap since it's a small part, or if he's right then it could be a little more, but still very reasonable.

Thanks for visiting Fixya.

Need to remove front drawer panel

There are two plastic bolts on each side of the dishwasher drawer holding the front cover. Get a plier to pull these out but make sure the cover is supported so that it does not fall down.

see installation manual page 7. The location of the plastic screws is shown in insert diagram of notation 6. This is for a later model but yours should be similar.
Hope this helps. Wonder why you want to remove the front cover?

F&P DD601 TOP DRAWER IN ALARM F3 , ANY IDEAS?

F3 alarm in F&P DD601 is linked to water temperature. If you are using cold water supply connection, then it is likely the heater unit or temperature sensor has gone faulty. If you are using hot water supply direct then the inlet water temperature is exceeding recommended range of approx 65deg C. DD601 is a fairly old unit and not sure if you can still get some parts.
