PS3 Afterglow controller doesn't work :( HELP! I just bought this as a last-resort thing and when I plugged it into my ps3 to use it but it wouldn't turn on. The package didn't come with instructions or anything. I know it's not my PS3's USB ports so yeah... help!

Was this bought new or second hand? Some wireless AfterGlow controllers don't connect directly to the PS3. They connect through the dongle that is plugged into the games console. If you don't have a dongle you won't be able to connect it. The PS3 console is classed as an "old" console so a replacement dongles could be difficult to find. If you bought this from a store contact them as it may be covered by a guarantee.
I think that controller is manufactured by PDP.com so you could try contacting them to see if they can supply a new dongle.

The controller is wireless and connects to the PS3 using the USB Dongle that plugs into the USB Port on the PS3.
How do I pair my Afterglow Wireless controller to my USB dongle?
Plug the new USB dongle into your PS3.
Now, press and hold the Home button (power button) on the controller until the LED on the USB dongle and the 4 indicator LED's on the controller are solid.

Does the controller light up when plugged in? If so an previous update may have messed it up. If not it could be the controller or the usb port. Try another USB port or another controller. If neither one of those solutions work. Try to delete the previous update, and reupdate the console. Most likely it is the controller or the usb port is broken.
there is a sync button somewhere on the controller and the usb thing you plug into your Ps3, pres those at the same time continuosly put make a 2 second break untill it connects.
If the controller is Sony you can just go the store you bought it at and exchange it But if u got a controller not Sony brand then recommend you not to buy cheap brands bc they break fast . Buy Sony products will last longer

my ps3 controller does not work when in games or demos for some reasons. It only works when in the dashboard! I need serious HELP!
