Bought new ignitor and new gas regulator and still get no gas when I turn on the oven. The glow stick comes on and when I bang the oven with my hand the gas will come on and the oven ignites immediately.

If the ignitor fails to pull at least 3.5 amps then it is bad. Go get another ignitor. That one is defective.

I have an Amana ARG7102W P1143347NW gas range that the oven will not light. All other functions work including the broiler and the oven ignitor glows brightly. I don't think it is getting gas to the...

most likely it will be the ignitor, even though it glows it doesn't mean the ignitor is good.it works on amps.a flat ignitor takes 3.2 amps to open the gas valve and a round ignitor takes 2.5 amps to open the valve, the only way to check it is to replace it and i would or if you have an amp meter with a clamp on it you just stick one of the wires going to the ignitor inside the clamp and it will tell you how many amps are coming out of the ignitor.buy a new ignitor and you should be fine.it calls for ignitor part number 31940001 and it's around 50 dollars.

My oven is not working The Broiler works and the stove top works fine but the oven will not heat and when you turn it on no gas comes out I tried turning it on and using a lighter but nothing happens

You gave us good clues in information!-- Thanks!

Most modern gas ovens have a device called a Glow Ignitor to light the burner.
If this ignitor has filed, it will NOT left the gas valve open-- (Good thing, right? :-) )

You say the broiler lights fine-- so let's observe something when the Broiler lights:
Do you see a bright glow near the Broiler burner?
(Usually toward the top rear of the oven--)

Well, you should see a similar bright glowing near the BOTTOM rear of your oven, for the main burner to light off-- If you do NOT see this glowing-- then you need a new ignitor-

You can remove the bottom burner cover, and dig deeper into the repair if you like-
But a new ignitor needs to be exactly like the failed one-- the safety circuit is very fussy about the exact same ignitor-- or it will not allow lighting-- even with a new 'generic' installed.

How deep do you want to go into this repair?-- Maybe it is time to call the service people into do the job?-- You can tell them that you think the ignitor needs replacing-- and approx. what will they charge you for the service call and the ignitor?

I hope this helped.

SET DIGITAL THERMOSTAT TO SAY 350 DEGREES WILL NOT TURN ON OVEN,,, ? IF I SET TO BROIL BROIL WORKS BUT OVEN WILL NOT TURN ON ?

Possibly the ignitor for the main oven burner has failed--

An observation question:

When the Broiler 'lights' and comes on, do you notice the ignitor glowing bright, before the gas valve (to the Broiler) opens, and you get the Broiler lighting---

Now-- for the main burner to come on, -- there has to be a similar bright glow from the MAIN BURNER ignitor, before its main burner gas valve can open-- No Ignitor?-- No ignition, and not Main Oven burner!

Let me know what you need from this point on --

Tappan gas range model 72-3981-00/07. Upper oven does not ignite even though the igniter comes on and glows yellow.

The ignitor is weak and must be replaced. When you get the new ignitor turn off the gas supply and the power to replace the ignitor.
Remove the oven racks, remove the oven base pan, remove the flame spreader to access the ignitor.

A friend has a oven that has been coming on with a bang. I've cycled it on and off cold and hot no problems when I was there. Pulled the botten pan out (it is quite worped from heat and dosn't fit that...

a lot of iffy things could be happening here..
verify proper amperage draw through the ignitor.. i believe thats a 3.2-3.5 amp system but check the label thats on the gas valve, it will have the ratings listed on there for sure. make sure amperage draw is in the middle of the range as some gas valves are less tolerant of low amperage draw than others.
it almost sounds like your amperage load may be on the low side, just enough to open the valve regularly but not open fully..
its on its way out if so..
the popping could be the gas coming into the oven slowly enough to NOT blow directly across the ignitor properly, (igniting it instantly if it were) and allowing it to pool in the enclosure some because of the low amperage draw through the ignitor, eventually firing with a bang..

yes the regulator vent could be plugged, but another thing is if you are on bottled gas/lp/propane for your source of fuel the regulator at the tank could be faulty also, causing the pulsing flame..
hope this helps,
best of luck,

Oven will not light but glow stick comes on.

The ignitor has to be hot enough to open the gas valve. It is glowing some but not enough to open the valve. Replace the ignitor.

Electric ignighter does not come on in the oven at all

In most cases it is the ignitor itself. Eledtricity goes thru the ignitor and as it gets hot it allows more electricity thru to the gas coils, allowing them to open and let the gas go thru. The ignitors do get weak and will glow but that is all. Not enough electricity can get to the gas valve solenoids and let gas thru. Find a local parts dealer and give them your make and model # to order the part.

Amana arg7800ww oven will not come up to temperature.

Your gas valve has a thermocouple circuit that will not let gas flow until the ignitor is hot enough. A failed ignitor can still glow but not be hot enough to open the gas valve. Replace your ignitor.

Electric starter gas oven model jgrp17 won't heat

more than likely your glow bar ignitor has stopped working or at least pulling enough amps to open the safety valve. The floor of the ovens come out may have a couple screws toward the back. take the floor out if a diffuser is on top of the burner remove it. the glow bar ignitor is mounted on the burner turn the oven on and watch it should glow bright red and in about 30 secs open the gas safety valve. If it does not glow you may want to verify power to the ignitor, more than likely the ignitor is the problem. If it glows but does not open the safety valev still replace the ignitor not pulling the required amps to open the safety valve. just put a little dish soap on the screws to the ignitor to help from srtripping them out
