No screws for the tv to mount to the bracket

I purchased a 42" plasma tv (th-42pz80u panasonic) and bought a mount for it that did not come with screws to fit in the back of the tv. I trying to find out what size screw fits this. I have tried a 5/16" fine thread and course, and 3/8" is to big and 1/4" to small. Can you tell me the size of hole and what screw I need to put in the back of the tv. I cannot return the mount, Circuit city is closed here.

Not even close! Both fastening holes are deep within the Bravia chassis. The upper two holes will take a 5M x60mm, the lower two holes might take a 5MX80MM!

You will 4 m5x18mm and 4 m5x25mm machine screws. That should do the trick..

TH-C4HD18

the four holes on rear are for wall mounted bracket, the stand that goes in bottom generally requires the removing of a cover plate which will be about size of the upper part of stand and will be approx four screws, remove cover and stand will slot in and fix with scres/bolts accordingly.

I have a Panasonic TH-42PZ80U 42" plasma tv I would now like to mount on a wall. I have gotten conflicting information as to whether it is VESA or not. Can you tell me anything about wall mounts for...

Just purchase a mount for 42" and above They come in different styles for your likening and make sure the wall bracket gets mounted into the wall studs and your all set. No major job. I get $150 all day long for those installs.

What is the screw hole size in back of tv

The screw holes are metric. The set is supplied with M5x25 screws to attach the pedestal, so the wall mount screws will be in that same range.

Does model th-c42hd18 require only a panasocin wall mount bracket. Seems others do not work

I am not familar with your exact model but my Panasonic TH-42PX600U 42 in. Plasma uses a generic brand wall mount. The first mount I bought would not fit so I returned it and bought a different brand which worked well. Start shopping your local stores (even walmart has a couple of different types to choose from), carefully open the packaging in case you need to return it and see if it will fit the mounting holes on the back of your TV. If it fits on the back of the TV then you should be good to go.
