When I ask the printer to print the word document open and click on ok -it asks me for the file -'print to file' comes up. I tried unclicking this selection on the options but it still persists with asking me. If i give it a file is just stores it in my documents section but still doesn't print. IfI cancel this request it cancels the print request. I don't understand what has happened because it was printing wirelessly fien before. it will print out a trouble shooter page for me but no documents!!!! i have just updated my Adobe software though -am wondering if this is the issue. What can I do? I am not an expert on computers but have the usual basic knowledge so if you know that answer please take it slow for me! Thanks

Check paper size refers to the fact your documents are for say and A4 sheet of paper but your drivers properties are set to letter size. Go into the drivers printing preferences and set the paper size to the correct value. All should work fine now.

The head of the ink cartridge may be need to be cleaned. Or a new cartridge needed.

SOURCE: please show me step by step to fix error 5110 in
This is a carriage error.
1. Printhead is stuck to the docking area either because some old ink has become like glue.
2. A piece of paper got over there and is jamming it.
3. The spring is weak and is not pulling the docking area down.
4. The Purge unit has failed and needs to be replaced.
Turn the printer off and then slide the printhead to the left and
use a flashlight to see if you see any paper stuck around where the two
sponges that where sitting below the prinhead or if it just didn’t
lower like it should have.
SOURCE: Canon MP470 will not scan
Hello.
Scanning a document requires the MP Navigator EX software to be installed. If you don't have a copy, select: http://download.cnet.com/MP-Navigator-EX-for-Windows/3000-2094_4-10971618.html Choose Download Now and follow the process to install and run.
Scan pictures or documents using the MP Navigator EX software that was installed from the CD. Start the application, then click the "Scan/Import" button. Select "Photos/Documents (Platen)" to indicate you want to scan items on the scanner bed. Then use the "View & Use" screen to choose what you want to do with the scanned images. You can save them to your hard drive, email them, print them or, if the scanned document was a text image, use the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) feature to convert the scanned image to text.
Hope this helps.

Same here -- fails to add a connector during install and assigns the connection to FILE: instead of using a network connection. Printing works via USB though, but that's not what I spend the extra bucks for.
I figured out that the problem is the port it's set on, but i don't know which one to use, someone help me too! :P
Same thing boss, no luck here
Same problem...print to file. Very frustrating. Need a fix!
After installation the MP620 in my Lan, it prints fine from one of the pc's, but from another pc in the same LAN it prints only to file, although installation on both pc's was carried out in the same way.
