A Chilton or Haynes manual from the library would help you find, and replace any part on your truck including what tools you'll need. They're also available at most auto parts stores or they can special order them for your truck. They're a HUGE help in any repair you do to your vehicle showing you step-by-step how to do it.

Inside the frame rail on the driver's side. You'll need a 5/16" (8mm) socket if it is the type that is held in with a hose clamp, or a 10mm if it is the bracket type. Some of the lines are held in with white plastic clips, others by special springs. If it is the type without clips, you'll need a special tool to release them. Also, if it is the type without the plastic clips, make sure they gave you the right filter. If the new filter is shorter than the old DO NOT PUT IT ON. If you do, you will have to cut it off next time you have to change it as the tool will not fit in. The two filters look the same except the tubes are longer on the non-clip filter.

If it has a distributor it is possible that the reluctor / stator has a broken wire. preventing the computer from firing the engine. This can be intermitant and would require the removal of the distributor. If the engine has a crank shaft sensor then this may be a possible place for a broken wire or bad connection. Location for these can be on the harmonic damper at the from=nt of the engine or located at or near the flywheel......

u need a special fuel line removal tool to replace the filter, the filter is on the frame rail drivers side.
