Loud sounds coming from the washer on spin cycle

When the washer goes into spin cycle it emits a loud roaring noise that can be heard through the whole house. There is also a sound of something slipping while this is happening. This problem has started in the last month or so. The washer is about 2 years old. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Maytag Bravos Washer - I have the same problem. It cost as much to change the spin bearing as to buy another washer. Sounds like an airplane landing in my home when it goes on spin cycle.

Remember its whats inside that maters - I will never ever again buy another Maytag!

That is a characteristic of bearings gone bad. You should look into replacing the bearings.

What causes our front loading washer to make exceeding loud noise when it enters a spin?

Sounds like a bearing seal is going. The seal has ruptured and grease of seeping out. The loud noise is the bearings rubbing against each other without adequate grease to reduce the friction. Failure will come soon if it is not fixed. The vibration is coming from the friction and possibly damaged ball bearings .

Frigidaire front loading washer has loud spin cycle, Why?

That's a great question, Roth!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire washer is making a loud noise during the spin cycle. This could be an issue with your bel, motor, or tub. In order to find the cause of your noise you may need to disassemble your washer. This is not a simple DIY job and I would recommend contacting a technician to come out. This will help prevent any future issues or personal injuries. -Matt

If it's a roaring noise, the tub bearing is probably wearing out. Spin the tub a little with your hand, if you hear a little of the roar, that's it.

Washing machine making loud roaring sound during spin cycle

Very likely the main bearing and drum shaft-inner tub will need replace. Not worth repairing, easily can cost more than the washer. Buy a new whirlpool front load duet, super capacity or the top load whirlpool with and agitator. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists
