If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide..................

The wii console won't read the games?

there is what some people call an "eye" inside (it a sensor) inside that reads the disks SOMETIME this can get dirty and sometimes it can also break completely.... I would first start by getting a cleaning disk you can find them at most gaming stores you simply pop it in and it does all the work... they are also cheap so always the best place to start... If that does not work then you will need to have the sensor fixed...... SOMETIMES and this is NOT a fix but a sometimes useful temp fix you can hold the system upside down and then put the disc in and continue holding it that way until it loads that sometimes works`

Im trying to play Wii Fit Plus, but every time I put the disc in i get this message: "The Game Disc could not be read. Refer to the Wii Operations Manual for details." I've tired cleaning the...

Have you tried inserting other game discs? like 3 types of disc. If your Wii console plays those discs and don't play with the game disc that you wanted to play, then the format of that disc is not recognized by console. Some disc formats are sometimes incompatible with the player console.

Stuck disc

Unplug Wii Power.

Plug back the console power, start back and press repeatedly the start button while the console is starting. Before the laser lens starts reading.

If that does not work, then there is need to disassemble the Wii, in that case call Nintendo first.

Wii unable to read disc

One of two things has probably happened and is the case 9 out of 10 times. Your drive may have gone bad either due to a chip failure or a laser failure. It's also possible if the unit has gotten hot that the connection to the drive isn't making good connection anymore. This happens a lot. To fix it you would have to open the unit up. I don't recommend this if you have never worked on consoles or other electronics before. If the unit is under warrenty send it in for repair. Otherwise you would have to pay for the repairs. You can also sell the unit as broken on ebay and generally recover quite a lot of your money.

If you are good with repairs of electronics you may choose to open it up and do some troubleshooting. There are several places on the internet that outline how to open the wii and how to troubleshoot it's problems. If you decide to go this route you will void any warrenty you might have. However sometimes this is about the only solution people have without spending money for Nintendo to fix it.

Unable to read wii discs

I had the same problem, I take it you have a modded wii(chipped), if you use a backup disc it is of a lower quality then original discs, the wii gets read errors without you noticing and tries to read those disc areas again sometimes suceeding and the gaming goes on, sometimes it fails, and a disc read error occurs. Over time the dvd assembly will take some damage it will loose it rigidity it once had and the wii stops reading discs. The problem gets worse if you have standing up, so first thing si to flip it down and try. Otherwise you (or someone you trust) will have to open the wii and adjust the lens sled so it wont flap as much up and down. Hope this helps..
